I'm actually saying the exact opposite.

I'm more concerned that if they didn't get the KS and so far, apparently don't have any other investment the game will never see a release because they won't be able to finish it.

It has other investment! As Jon Hare said in an email to those that wanted to back the Kickstarter: "Don't worry, Sociable Soccer is still happening and will be coming out in due course through traditional publishing channels."

Shitey no. 9 has poisoned the well for everyone, long as kickstarters get their special extras, it comes out, has s nice top down zoomed right out view and plays like a proper sensi instead of that XBLA crap, jobs a goodun. Besides, its a potential British success story, so we should get behind it.

But they don't just spam us with PR speak constantly. They're real people too.

New trailer:

Played this at the Play expo last year and really enjoyed it even then. Steam says September 7th! (edit: that date has since been removed, and on RPS they said it was a 'clerical error'.)

While it's great to see a pseudo sequel to Sensible Soccer (and maybe it's just the trailer) but that looks waaaaaaaaay too fast and more like Kick Off 2, with a game more similar to pinball than football. (It's even using the tagline "It's faster than f***")

Sensible Soccer was always about a slightly slower pace but with more skill at the passing and shooting. Kick Off 2 ran so fast that you had no idea what was going on. Some people preferred that... I preferred Sensi...

Here's somebody's SWOS highlight disk. Compare the two videos and Sociable Soccer looks like it's running at double speed compared with SWOS.

Never mind comparing it to the Grandaddy of this - Microprose Soccer on the C64.

In saying that, I hope this comes out for the Switch... ;-)

Switch demo looks slower than the trailer above (first game trailer that's made me think, 'I'm too old for this game'... blimey, it's blisteringly quick).

Keen to try it out, a Sensi-style game appeals having spent so, so many hours with SWOS.

Is this out on steam early access today? It showed it yesterday as appearing in 11 hours so was expecting it to be up this morning but now it's back to coming soon. I'm off from work so might take a punt on it if it isn't too expensive.

Delayed a week now. Pity as my holidays will be almost over then. Strange they only noticed on the day of release though

Yep. We missed that you have to submit an Early Access build for approval 3-5 business days before you actually want it out. It's because we are all new to the platform and have never used it before that we made this mistake. Hopefully once we get approval of the first version the following updates/patches will come regularly to bring our baby up to full version. We expect it to be completed in about 2½ - 4 months. We'd like it to be finished by Christmas but that is very optimistic.
