I've got pretty bored with this of late, just sick of how laggy it is in Battle League etc.

 

I still do raids with my friends in Japan, but I don't log on daily like I used too, I do wonder if it won't be long before I stop logging in completely.

 

It needs something to bring new players in and to keep us long term players interested, but even I don't know what that will entail....

 

Are there still people here playing it daily?

My daughter got me back into playing this a few days ago. I have not played since 2017. Thankfully my account is still live with all the old pokemon I collected in 2016/17.

 

Will go back and add the friends code on the last few pages.

The incense only spawns while you are moving so you need to be walking about for it to work.

I managed to catch Galarian Zapdos. Someone advised me the following: Don't try and catch it with your first ball. Instead drop around 10-15 balls before going for the catch. If it breaks free without running, do the same again before attempting another catch.

I don't play anymore but this is almost certainly bullshit.

 

The Pokemon Go community is full of this hokum. Mythical hacks that trick the game. And almost without fail they're crap and always have been.

 

If you ever want to really know how things work or whether some technique little Billy from round the corner told you then you should be reading The Silph Road on Reddit. It's a Pokemon Go research community who basically unpick every single mechanic in the game.

 

There is a post there about this (labelled as Research Needed) with the top comment being a pinned Moderator comment saying it should be taken with a large dose of salt. And I think that's them being polite. Because these people act sensibly. They won't say it cannot be true because they haven't proved it.

 

Back in the day the big one was "Don't press okay" after catching a raid boss. The idea that when you caught a raid boss you MUST NOT press the ok button because this would tell the server that you had caught it and then, once X% of people had caught the boss no-one else could. It's so fucking stupid. It doesn't pass a sniff test. It would be a horribly complicated implementation, as well as very flaky. But people who cannot consistently throw an excellent curve ball must cling to the idea that it's not just RNG that explains why most of their Pokemon run away.

There are currently three active codes in Pokemon Go that were released as part of the Go Tour Hoenn event in Las Vegas. Claiming them will give you encounters with Regirock, Regice, and Registeel!
