Have they also reduced the amount you can open a day? Already reached my limit but don't think I've opened more than I have on previous days. Don't mind receiving less per gift as I was just throwing away berries and balls to make room.

I generally love getting gifts from you each day and really enjoy seeing the pokestops they have come from. 

 

You've got some truly beautiful scenery over there, makes me think more and more about visiting when an opportunity presents itself.

Got Alolan Meowth & Vulpix now, plus four more eggs ready to be hatched.

 

Sent at least one gift to everyone on my list as well now, I think.

 

I'm on a city-based team conference / team building thing on Thursday so should be able to spin stops all afternoon & hopefully send out a full set of gifts again.

You might be thinking of the Alohan eggs you get in gifts. They give you comedy beach versions of existing 'mons. Invariably fucking Meowths  

 

Raids are when a gym has a big egg on it for a while and then a pokemon hatches and you (and up to 19 other people depending on how tough it is) fight it so you can try and catch it. It's pretty much the same as a raid boss in a MMORPG. You an catch rare or useful 'normal' pokemon and a rotating Legendary one.

They've done all 3 legendary birds already. Not bothered by Snorlax though the only one I have is crap. Was hoping for the Johto legendary dogs to be next. If they were sticking with Kanto they could have at least made it a regional exclusive reward. I want Tauros

Glorious day! It used to be half a mile to the nearest Pokestop and 1.2 miles to the nearest gym (getting to the Pokestop isn't too bad, but as a 2.4 miles round trip the gym is a bit too time consuming to do regularly), but last weekend they added a new Pokestop about a minute's walk from my front door, and today it's turned into a gym! Looks like I was the first person to ever lay claim to it too.

The annoying thing is there was a Gastly next in my street up until a few months ago.

Gastly hasn't been all that frequent around here due to the number of events we've had making common stuff rarer, it might be easier now what we're not surrounded by fighting / water / rock Pokemon.

 

It looks like the gift item levels have got more sensible (or perhaps they are higher level for new friends?)

Found an Absol raid this morning, which is a rarity for me, the 3rd I've seen, and now done.  It must be the easiest Level 4 raid, 2 accounts, took it down with more than 40 seconds to go.

I'm confused by all the people struggling to do the ghost research. I did it for my daughter in 2 hours. Just get up early (before 7) and go to any urban spawn area, you'll find plenty of shuppet/gastly.

Also I hatched an egg someone from Aylesbury sent me and it was a 96% Sandshrew, thanks whoever sent that again.

Not sure if this is widely known or not, but players of Niantic’s other game, Ingress, who reach level 10 in that game get the ability to submit “portals” and a lot of those also get used as Pokestops or Gyms in Pokemon Go. 

 

My other half played Ingress for a few weeks and has already populated our neighbourhood with a number of new Pokestops. Also, it turns out she really enjoys playing Ingress. Maybe worth a try for those in sparse areas?

I was stuck on the ghosts one for months as well, ended up getting my last three from the research task reward for getting 3 great throws. 

 

Now I’m stuck having to do 10 raid battles, which will likely be another few months, I’ll be lucky to get Mew before Christmas!

Had an EX Raid invite yesterday but couldn't attend due to work - again. Luckily someone from the group was happy to take my spare phone and do it for me. 96% Mewtwo GET! The best one for me yet by far. Though some annoying  prick in the group got a 100% one.
