Yeah and also it'd add another aspect to Legendaries - they mostly only have a couple of optimal movesets anyway, it'd be nice to give people the option to switch it up a bit. I'd rather fight something cool like a Mewtwo or Articuno than Blissey for the billionth time.

After being out in the sun for so long yesterday i was feeling pretty ill last night so was going to just go out for an hour or 2 before it got too sunny. That didn't happen and I spent from 7am to 2pm out and about. Managed 5 Latios raids today, caught 3 of them  (all 89%), one that got away was worse but the other had 2063cp so would have been my best if I had caught it. 

 

 

While I was out this morning i noticed a lot of gyms in town being taken by a couple of names I've never seen before. Thought it was spoofers so went about taking most of the gyms back. But then I spotted a guy and his young son walking around playing it so realised it was probably them and felt bad for kicking them out of the gyms. 

 

Spotted them again later in the day so introduced myself  (while apologising for kicking them out of the gyms) and invited them to a couple of Level 5 raids that had been organised on the group chat. Turns out they stay elsewhere but were over visiting. They came to the raids and both caught a Latios which I think they said were their first legendaries. That was cool. 

 

I also had the pressure of trying to catch a Latios for that kid I caught the Latias for previously. Luckily I caught it from him so got to play the hero again. Was 2060cp too, wee bastard  now has a better Latios than me. <_<

Levelled up to 38 the other day.  Not managed a Latios yet, but will hopefully get to try one through the week.  Missing the fighting event already with the return of the usual fodder this morning, will have to have a look at sorting out what I want to evolve and power up for my Machamp and Hariyama army.

 

Only caught one shiny fighting 'mon, red onion head as it's now called.  I don't like the shiny grind anyway, that sort of binary result RNG use isn't fun or interesting to me.  I much prefer the analogue IVs / CP level random stuff that at least can land you something strong or useful even if it's not perfect.

I don't know what any of that means. I got zero shiny fighting mon. :(

Had an EX Raid today but was working, fortunately someone from the raid group chat had a spare phone so did it for me. My third Mewtwo (missed one EX Raid so could have had 4) but this one is awful. Like 71% bad. <_<

Spoofing is just cheating in a multiplayer game and we all know that's the worst kind of cheating. Knock it out son, mug's game. 

 

Just popped out for a wee dander to the gym up the road and realised I was in range of a level 4 some people on my team were doing - 88% Tyranitar with 15 attack, bite and crunch. I'm starting to get a slapdash but vaguely serviceable team together for my ex raid next week. Unless it has focus blast, in which case I'm fucked.

I don't like the random number generator element of a shiny. The chance of getting one is just completely random, and slim at that. 

On the other hand, catching pokemon also has random number generated elements, Cp, iv and that works well for the game as you still have a chance of getting something great. I mean an iv 75+ with 15 attack is perhaps worth keeping. A shiny is either shiny or not..

I've still not seen a Lapras! Walking into town to see Deadpool in a bit and I'll have seven 10k eggs hatch on the way so hopefully I'll get one. 

 

That is a beast of a Mewtwo. I am insanely jealous. I was all happy I got my second Tyranitar last night, now I feel bad.

This is new to me. “Quick catch.” Not tried it yet:

 

<@!283341514221027328> Basically, I think you drag the select ball icon across the screen, hold it there while throwing the ball, once youve thrown it let go and then exit the encounter

 

Anyone else has any experience with this? Could be good to master it in time for Saturday’s charmander fest.

Aye it's handy when you have Catch x Amount of Pokemon type quests. 

 

 

Had to do 3 Great Throws in a row task yesterday. Was a bastard. Must have caught over a hundred Pokemon while trying it. Finally nailed it when 3 Cactus-mon appeared. Then today I've got 5 Great Throws quest... :(

Aye, Machops and Mahuhita were always easy for Great Throws. As are Sentrets, Mr Mime, Cactus guy, Staryu, Wailmer and Ponyta. But even then I fucked up my third throw so many times when it was one of those ones. The pressure is too much and I fail when I'm trying too hard.

I'm sure everyone here already knows, but 10am to 1pm tomorrow for Char.

 

I'm halfway between being bothered, and not being bothered.  I don't really care for shiny Pokemon as discussed earlier, and Charizard isn't that useful, and I already have a few.  Still, if the weather is nice, it's a good excuse to go out for a walk, so will wait and see.

Charizard with the new Blast Burn move if you evolve it on the day is about to be one of the best fire attackers I'm the game.

 

I love community day. We get 100+ in our local park and I do badges (free last time, selling at cost this time). It's a Pokémon party.

Our local community is unfortunately a bit of a mess.  It used to be excellent, but there are a few elitists who run things behind the scenes.

We had a public facebook page and chat, but it started to go quiet, which turned out to be because an invite only discord chat was created.

There was also a few horrible things said / making fun of some players in the private discord, which was publicised via screen shot to the other chat. 

Not Pokemon stuff, just straight up insults about weight, appearance etc.

I have no interest in getting involved in any of the politics, I just want to play the game.  I've already feel pretty embarrassed to be associated with some of these elite players who are basically young hormonal lads, especially when they are talking about other players I know in a young hormonal lad type fashion at raids - but hey, I'm old and boring, so who cares ;)

 

To top that off, the 'rules' for the discord chat include a no cheating clause, so I'm outcast as I break the terms of service by playing 2 accounts.

I asked at a raid who dictates which of the terms of service are allowed to be broken, and which aren't and was told that a certain member of the group (elitist, level 40) decided.

The person I asked said I could participate in their raids if I used 1 account only, which I have no issues doing, but they won't invite me to their discord chat.

 

I pointed out that plenty of them share accounts and use IV checkers (I do this too, I'm sure most players do) , but I've never shared my account (which they all do regularly), or spoofed / falsified GPS, and never will as I feel it defeats the purpose of the game.    He shrugged.

 

Black Charizard looks awesome :O
