Kings Fall has 5!! checkpoints. One more than either VoG or CE.

They are either being extra generous or this thing is fucking epic.

Provided they don't reset it the following Tuesday, we've got 10 days to nail it. They wouldn't reset it that quick though would they?........would they?

Edit: Or I suppose you could argue if it's a raid thread it's fine. I guess I'll just avoid reading any raid threads if so, but I guess that also means not reading any of them for the purposes of maybe joining a raid crew. Might be better to post [spoilers] in the thread title if you've decided to share raid info in it?

Ah, ok. And to be fair, they did say it was the biggest raid yet a while back. I'd just rather not have been able to gauge how long it had to go while playing it by the number of checkpoints we've hit - but as you say, it's obvious from the advisor page even if you're trying to avoid the info. I might be better off ignoring the raid threads anyway I suppose - which might end up a bit of an ordeal since I haven't managed to sort out a team yet, so probably won't even start the thing next week.

Hope your raiding goes well next Friday. I heard his dad's not all that - he's a big man, but he's in bad shape. With us it's a full-time job.

I'm not 'concerned,' but I almost certainly won't be anywhere near 290 by this Friday, and I doubt the vast majority of those planning to raid will be. I think it's probably better to have a good crack at it for a full week starting Tuesday, if that's the reset, and spend the time in-between getting better gear.

Of course, there's always the possibility, despite being hopelessly outclassed, of clearing the first checkpoint and getting PHAT LOOT (which is even better gear), so fuck it. Let's all die like dogs, I say!

(I realise I'm not in the raid team so this post doesn't really matter, but there you go. Still true innit?)

I'm at 241 light with my Hunter, didn't get to play much last night, but should get about 4 hours in tonight and tomorrow, gonna focus only on one character once I get my 3rd subclass unlocked (Titan) so I'm not spreading myself too thin. If I make it, great, but it's not the end of the world if I don't, the raid won't be going anywhere.

Honestly, the fun I'm having with all the other new stuff at the moment I'm not too fussed about the raid straight away and I'd rather go in prepped. I'm not keen on rushing it and with only tonight left I doubt I could do it anyway.

There's Court of Oryx, all the new strikes, nightfalls and about a bazillion new quests to keep us busy. Even yesterday's daily was a fun half hour challenge

So then, shall we say Saturday night instead?

Yeah, I'm with you on that. But if we can get into it we may as well have a bash, though I'm not grinding my arse off tonight just to make 290. If the recommended light is 290 and we can enter it at 250 we will have the same experience as Finite had in the Daily last night.

Firstly, I need to run the daily crucible and dismantle some low light legendaries then buy a decent Ghost, the 190 thing I have now is dragging my numbers down! Vanguard Ghost costs 75 Marks, detects wormspore and is 280 Defence. That'll do nicely.

I am at 230 light now I think but I may be able to boost it a fair bit using some stuff from Xur. If I get the gloves and a helm engram and then a couple of spares I can use the spares to boost a legendary armour piece up a decent amount depending on which one I choose to wear. I can then use some marks to buy a ghost or a weapon too. I have no idea how much extra light that will give me but I'd hope for closer to 250. Actually, when you infuse something does the armour piece have to match or can you use some legs to boost a helm for example?

If there is no minimum cap at all to doing it, it may be fun to just go in and have a look whats going on with it anyway - it may be the first sections ease you in, you never know!

You can use items for infusion so long as they are from the same slot - special/heavy/gauntlets etc. and you can use a Hunter piece to upgrade a Titan piece, but you cant mix the slots.

And supposedly the calculation for infusion is 80% of the difference rounded up. ie helmet = 250, you get one at 278 so difference is 28, 80% of that is 22.4, rounding up, your helmet should now be at 273 light.

I'm up for giving it a crack at the very least and go in and have a mooch about. First checkpoint might be some sweet loot that puts a bit more bits of light. If it turns out we are getting battered then that's fine too

I'm going to give that a try for a bit before raid time tonight, the exotics Xur sells are all 280, but the stuff from exotics drops at 290. Got nearly 300 strange coins, might as well give it a bash!

My Ghost is only 170. Really cramping my style now, as otherwise a trip to Xur this evening (to buy the Warlock Gauntlets and some engrams) would probably leave me looking pretty good (as I'm 234 despite only having a couple of purples).

5 x three of coins seems to be the magic number. If you're not bothered about wasting a few, just pop five and go in. Still suicide but might save some time.

Pop 5 at once or spread them out over the evening? I knew the habits I learnt raving in the 90s would see me in good stead.

Don't pop them at once, the buff will increase next time if you kill an ultra and an exotic engram fails to drop.

So use a coin, kill boss/suicide, repeat til supply of coins exhausts. I'm finishing work early, going home to try this :lol:

How many marks you got? 75 gets you a 280 ghost from your vanguard advisor. I got one from Cayde 6 that also finds Wormspore.

Haven't been able to play too much (update issues foiled me on Tuesday, and I was out Wednesday), so only about 25 I think. Might be able to run strikes and Nightfalls tonight and tomorrow if Xur's stuff boosts me sufficiently (and I actually finish the campaign), so I might have a few more shortly. If I don't get a half-decent drop in the interim the Ghost will be my priority though, as that'll be the best way for me to get a big boost from a vendor purchase.

Yeah that works a treat.

Killed Draksis 10 times using a 3 of coins before each run and got 3 exotics.

Celestial Nighthawk

Graviton Forfeit (New Hunter Helmet)

Bought a couple of Engrams from Xur and got Mask of the third man and Celestial Nighthawk, which I shouldn't have bothered doing since the drop rate is so high from this method!

279 Light now.

Only had a quick 10 mins for it, got another 40 3 of coins left, so definitely hammering this later! New loot cave!
