Horizon Chase - 90s arcade racing, now on Xbox and Switch

Well the environments are definitely better! No fuel pickups in this one though, is that only a turbo thing?

I really hope this release and the lack of the China and Japan DLC on Turbo means they are NOT abandoning the console versions. Chase 2 played with a controller on Apple TV doesn't feel as tight as Turbo does, its a bit more forgiving in the handling, which makes sense as its a mobile game at heart. I can see the extra effort they put into Turbo and hope they continue to do so

Edited to add to NOT which should have been there!

Loved the effort they put into the Senna DLC too. You can tell it was a real passion project and it feels quite different. Even the first person view feels really good.

I imagine there is more profit to be had on mobile maybe? Outside of the hardcore I can’t imagine the console version was a huge seller even at £20. I assume it’s been in PS+ and Gamepass type services. Or bought for under a fiver in Sales. It’s absolutely worth 15+ sovereigns though. It’s great for short bursts of fun.

One of the few games I bought at full price on PS4 as it was still cheap and you could see the effort they put in.

Definitely agree the mobile version probably brings in more money, but glad I am able to play this new one on the TV with the controller.

I've been waiting for the sequel to arrive on the Xbox, be a bummer if it's PC only, honestly. And the Japan DLC for the first over, which I have on Switch.

Wow, what a typo, I meant to say NOT abandoning. Going to edit post and say I did

I bought this just before Christmas on an Xbox store deal for a couple of quid but really just started it last week. I'd been on the fence for a while but glad I bought it. Good arcade style gameplay and smooth retro/not retro graphics. Only thing that let's it down so far is the nothingy soundtrack but that's a minor quibble.

It seems like it's going to be a huge game with tons of stuff unlocking all the time, but great to dip into if I have a spare 20 mins or so.

Just grabbed the Senna DLC in the PS sale, another great mode. It’s crazy though, on PS only 0.3% of people have completed Chapter 1 of the Senna Career, 7 races that probably take about 30mins. I guess it must be 0.3% of all players rather than just those who have DLC? Bit of a shame if the DLC hasn’t sold well, as said above it feels like a real passion project.

Probably. There is so much content in the main game that I've not even considered touching the dlc yet.

There is and if anything it suffers from it a little as it does get a bit repetitive. Because of that it’s a game I dip in and out of rather than play through but I do really enjoy it in a short bursts, the DLC is smaller and a bit more focused and I’m happy to buy it having got the main game via PS Plus. Senna could’ve easily been a small standalone game, I love the story/history through it.

I’m enjoying this at the moment though it would be great to have a few unobtainable times in the friends leaderboard to demoralise me so it’s be cool to have some gamertags or people adding me on Xbox if that’s where you play this: GaryC1882.

I hadn’t heard of this and probably wouldn’t have but for the forum so - thank you! It’s right up my street.
