I wonder what part of the announcement will piss people off this time. IX - 3DS, lack of SE designed party , X - MMO, XI-?

My bet is PS3/4/Vita.

I've been replaying DQVIII for the last few days in anticipation of tomorrow's reveal. Still wonderful, gross female objectification aside. Hoping hard for PS4 this time - all the signs are good!

Does it have slimes?

Despite being the most popular entity in the Dragon Quest universe, and a staple of every single Dragon Quest game, and a massive merchandising opportunity, they've decided to leave them out of DQXI.

Yeah.

I'm going for a PS3/PS4 release too. Can't imagine they'll go for 3DS as it's too small a platform, Wii U is untouchable.

Would prefer it to be PS4 only, or PS4/Xbox One/PC but I can't imagine that happening. Dragon Quest is a bit low budget for that these days.

I'm going for PS4/3DS. The former for sales in the West and the latter for Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3DS version wasn't released in the West, none of their ports of DQ games have been since VI on the DS.

How would PS4/3DS even work though, the platforms are generations apart offering zero parity. They'd be entirely different games.

Well, exactly - that's how they'd do it, a la Ni no Kuni. They won't, though. Because it's on PS4. I bet both bollocks and my entire cock. Maybe.
