Also if they do end up releasing a mini switch, i expect it to have fixed joycons and no dock support with a slightly smaller screen. Won't be revealed for a while though i am sure.

I can't see "no dock support" as that goes against the whole switch concept. Dock sold separately maybe.

I had this exact idea about a decade ago. Sadly, lacking the ability and attitude to actually do anything whatsoever about it, I'll gallantly step aside and allow Nintendo to have a crack.

EDIT: Aha, I seem to be rebutting you with your own point. Blame the lack of jump-to-last-unread on the mobile skin, which means I tend to end up reading threads backwards.

The joy-con just arrived at work, and does indeed look mint. By God, it’s so yellow. The yellowest. A much better match for the vibrant blue, pink and green ones than the weak Neon Red.

The jump to last unread works on mobile exactly like the desktop

Why would kids at heart want a smaller switch? Its small enough for us big handed bastards as it is.

I don't think they do.  It's just using the gyroscopes.   The infra red camera isn't even pointing the right way,  nor is there a 'sensor bar' equivalent for it to look at.

Aha - looks like it does if I select the thread from the browse forum view, but not if I select it from the Content I Posted In view, which is what I use basically all the time.

I'm hoping this is something totally unexpected... and for it to be quite a cool and ambition project that's aimed at everyone. 

Basically the Switch's Wii Sports, but something unexpected.

It's interesting because I've never seen the Switch as being particularly child friendly. Compare it to the chunky 2DS or the Gameboy. It's a pretty fragile console.

I'm betting it's something pretty banal, like the "new way to play" is they've made a deal to put Switches in restaurant chains, or rent them out or something.

 

Nintendo loves stuff like that.
