Anyone slightly worried that this thing tonight would be what Retro's been working on for five years?

would be surprised - been tweeted out by the Animal Crossing designer and being announced in Japan first suggests that it's a home grown thing

word abound is that it's very young kid related and will feature physical stuff you buy - like, but not, amiibo.

prepare for imminent dudebro meltdown

As someone with a 5 year old, I'm interested in anything like this if Nintendo have put proper effort into it and it's well designed.

All I know is that Nintendo and LEGO have had a project together for a while at a Danish studio here, which they then shifted to another studio in Denmark. If that is what's being shown tonight, I'm not sure. I'm asking around but everyone is being tight lipped. :(

That's just the new Mario Lego sets though, isn't it?

I reckon it'll be something completely new along these lines, but not tied to any existing external property. So no Lego, but something entirely Nintendo-focused. If so, I wonder whether it'll be tied to Nintendo IP like Mario, or be akin to a more physically interactive version of something like Nintendogs. I think it's more likely to be the latter, would rather the former.

Very much doubt it's a hardware revision this early. My bet is new amiibo style toys.

Switchlite is nailed on though. I've barely disconnected my joycons since i got it. Fixed joycons and slimline dock with pro controller included. Xmas 2018 revealed at E3.

Fixed joycons when they recommend them separated for things like ARMS and Odyssey? I can't quite see it. I reckon they've at least another year before they have to announce new hardware like that.

They did a 2D 3DS...
