Spunked my CEX credit online to get ARMS, a Neon Yellow Joy-con (R) to replace my disappointingly dull coloured Neon Red one, and the Hori mini-stand thing to mop up the remainder. I noticed they've put £2 on the price of all their Switch games since earlier this week.

I've not ordered hardware from CEX online before, hopefully the joy-con's in good nick.

Has anybody got an Arcade stick for their switch?

8 Bit N30 £65

Hayabusa Fight £114

They seem to be the two options. Obviously the Hayabusa is going to be better but I'm not an expert and just want the arcade feel on the likes of metal slug and Garau. Any experiences on here?

I just picked up the Mayflash F300 because it will work on my PC, PS4 and Switch and it was only £50.

It feels fine to me to use, although I am the scrubbiest scrub that ever played fighting games so I probably can't be trusted.

I think that’s what the 8bit is based on but just not wireless. It deffo works on Switch? Amazon doesn’t mention it.

Am am tempted to try the cheaper one and mod or sell if I get into it. It’s mainly for Shmups on Switch and PC.

@YiggyThe 8-bitdo only works via bluetooth and the stick is very loose apparently, I'd discount that.

I remember lots of people bigging up the hayabusa stick and kori buttons that are used in the hori when they came out.
I haven't used them myself (they seem more geared to fighting games than shmups, the stick has a soft spring and a long throw (how far you can push it before you can't push it further) but it does have a short engage (how far you have to push before a direction is registered).

The HRAP's are always easy to mod so you could always stick an ls-32 in there in the future if you didn't get on with the stick.

I'd definitely pay the extra and go for the hori. It's wired and the parts will be much better quality.

personally, I'd only buy the 8-bit do if I was going to replace the stick and buttons, and even then, I wouldn't be happy about it being wireless.

What is garau? Did you get autocorrected?

Piece of the proverbial to change the stick in the 8bitdo.  Just make sure it's one without the 5pin socket on the side. Must have the separate connector plugs for each direction.

Seimitsus work but not Sanwas.

Yeah, you just need to update the firmware from the Mayflash site which involves plugging it into a PC using the USB and running the firmware installer you download from their site.

I bought a Brooks PS4 > Switch converter for my TE2 stick and the thing doesn't work at all. Think it's going to have to go back to Amazon.

I got a Brook for my 360 TE > Switch, it worked fine once I updated it (turns out the Switch version is just WiiU version with new firmware).

Have you checked the firmware for yours? I take it the stick is working on your PS4? Does your stick light up when connected to the Switch? Have you checked the button on the TE that makes it function like an analogue stick or d-pad is set to d-pad? You've probably done all that, but took me a bit of faffing about before I got mine to work.

About the direct on Thursday..

  • A short direct
  • "I think it was something like 'games and accessories'" (what the leak says)
  • Main direct in Feb

I am going to guess its going to be an accessory that make true what Kimishima said about the importance of broadening beyond core Nintendo fans this year. This short direct to get the idea out there and a game. Let everyone go crazy (for better or worse) on impulse reactions, then weeks later in Feb when everyone is normal a direct show games using it.

Thats my hype guess! Guess 2 another Kirby game :D

Some sort of tiny GPS/NFC device that you carry around. Acts as a pedometer, can passively catch Pokemon, lets you do Street Pass style stuff (handy for 3DS ports and/or Mingle Mode from TWEWY).

Dragon Quest Builders  £32.85 at base.com if anybody else interested. I quite enjoyed the demo.

Stardew Valley is taking up much of my time at the moment, it made a 2 hour train journey seem like nothing.

Thanks for that I think I'm going to buy it. I'm a big DQ fan and really enjoyed the demo aswell.

Does anyone know how long the main game lasts?
