REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nintendo Switch has become the fastest-selling home video game system in U.S. history. The home console that players can take wherever they go launched March 3, 2017, and in 10 months has sold more than 4.8 million units in the United States, according to Nintendo’s internal sales figures. That’s the highest total for the first 10 months of any home video game system in U.S. history, surpassing Nintendo’s own Wii system, which was the previous record holder with more than 4 million units sold during the same timeframe.

Anyone playing Blossom Tales?

I've bought it and started it over Christmas, but not got very far. It's VERY much Zelda:LttP in both artstyle and gameplay. I just need a couple of days to sit down with it and get stuck in, but early impressions are favourable.

I plan to. Link to the Past is my favourite game and this looks like it draws (copies) heavily from it so I'm very interested. A little Titan Souls in there too.

Skint though. Probably wanna pick up Volgarr while it's on sale.

Been playing a bit of Gorogoa — pretty incredible, although it does feel a little like I’m just tapping around and hoping for the best. After the first bit, there are too many perspectives / potentials for me to keep track of in my head — that’s a complaint about me, not the game!

After a late return from a work trip to London, I have 30 minutes or so for a bit of Switch action before bed.

Genuinely suffered option paralysis, trying to choose between Zelda, Mario or Splatoon.

Truly, 'tis a golden age. I've not been this interested in games in years.

When you've completed it you'll feel you need wider doors in your house.

I sat down last night.

Hmm, Splatoon 2? Stardew Valley? Make a start on Fire Emblem Warriors?

Nope, Blaster Master Zero.

Too many games. Nintendo have fucked it.

Just got back into Steamworld Dig 2 and it’s bloody wonderful. I heard some outlets said it was too short or wasn’t really a Metroidvania, but both of those things are untrue. One of my favourite Switch games, for sure.

And finished, though I have some secrets to mop up. Enjoyed the final boss! Took about 11 hours, which is more than I play most games for.

It was definitely a thing people said the first few months. It wasn’t true then either.

It had games and people were wowed by the system, but for three and half months Switch had no proper decent exclusives.  That's a first for one of their consoles. I definitely said that then and it was true. As a Wi U owning TV player I was underwhelmed.

The tweaks to Mario Kart were good though and they totally delivered from ARMS onwards. Should have been a launch game that to give it a bit more space to be fully appreciated.

I totally agree with you about ARMS. I ended up loving the game but dropped it the minute Splatoon 2 came out, as did the vast majority, from anecdotal experience. I ended up going back and it's improved drastically with every update but I know that plenty of people exchanged it early doors. It's a game which takes time to click, simple as that. If it'd had a longer window for people to get into it, I think it'd have had a greater impact. Still, it's done well in GOTY lists which may bring a few more in. It's done much better than Splatoon and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, in that respect.

Yeah but had you bought one at launch you most likely would have bought Zelda too and would have enjoyed it first time on Switch. To all intents and purposes it's an exclusive, and the fact it sold better on Switch proves that.

I think they took the right decision in killing off the Wii U and treating Zelda as a Switch launch title.

I never owned a Wii U so whilst I can understand why you might not have been impressed with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, for many people who had never played the game it was a pretty big deal. It's one of the best games on the system.
