Can sometimes never understand Nintendo's thinking. The ways I could think they could make money of switch but don't here a thing from them.

Out source the Wii U library and have them a £20 eshop games.

SNES virtual console instead of the mini.

In fact virtual console on all previous ones. N64,GameCube, Wii drip feed these to fill the gaps in between the first party games for switch.

Just wish memory was not a bit of an issue as big micro SD cards are expensive for bigger capacity ones.

They are already making lots of money without doing any of this

they probably made more money from SNES mini than they would have from VC

Also the "drip feeding" makes it a bit more of an event when a game comes out. Giving certain titles a bit more time in the sun than they would if it was just a huge ROM dump of every game ever made for the SNES.

I'm not saying Wii VC did it right exactly but I think the ACA Neo Geo series has done it quite well recently.

Very true. I bought a SNES Mini and was almost overwhelmed with how many games were available RIGHT NOW, which meant I subsequently played about five minutes of all the games I used to own, ignored all the ones I'd never played before (apart from Super Castlevania, that got five minutes, too), and then modded Zombies ate my neighbours onto it and only played that for a week before forgetting about the mini entirely. So drip feed is definitely the way to go for me personally.

Can anybody recommend a cheaper option for a spare dock?

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253164452837

I was a little suspicious at the fact that it was cheaper than the ones where you have to use the PCB from the original dock, but it's worked very well since I got it. Sometimes I need to undock/dock the switch if the picture doesn't switch to the TV immediately, but most of the time it works as well as the official one.

Thanks for all the battery pack info, I went for the Anker 20100 one - got 20% off it as I got a 10000 at the same time, which will do nicely as an xmas present for my sister. I decided that the smaller one is good for phones, but the larger one gives me more flexibility to charge more stuff.

Is Minecraft good on the Switch?

Minecraft is simply an exceptional game on everything. It's actually no better on Switch, but it is a must-have at least somewhere in your gaming collection. And the Mario theme is pretty damn cool, it has to be said.

Has anyone played Romancing Saga 2? Trying to decide between that and I’m a Satsuma for some Christmas JRPG fun.

Played it a bit 'back in the day'. Nothing special about it from what I remember. Seems a slightly odd choice to being to switch, maybe it's because they had already done the leg work with the wii and 3DS release.

They're making big bucks at the moment with the Switch and Snes Mini as it is. I'm sure we'll soon see VC, Wiimasters and more WiiU ports soon enough when they're needing a boost to profits - their next fiscal year starts in April so perhaps they're holding back until then having already likely exceeded their targets for this year with how well the Switch has sold.

A rectangular box shape? I sense disappointment.

Ah, man.

Just had my Switch turn on to...a black screen. :omg:

Luckily, a hard reset did the trick (hold power off for a looooong time). But the prospect of a Switch-less XMas flashed before my eyes. I need a stiff drink.

Mine does it a lot. If you held down the home button did the sleep options appear but not work?

Reboot fixes it every time in my case. Does mean I always have to save before I leave it in sleep mode mind.

I'm already very familiar with it on PC, but haven't played it in ages so was considering picking it up if it's a good port. It's the lack of decent controls that's stopped me getting the pocket version.

Interesting. Can you tell me, does this work with a 2.4A charger and a USB-C cable or do you need to use an official charger with the higher output?
