Timesplitters SP was nearly entirely garbage, except for Timesplitters 2, which had one good single player level.

The only real problems is the very aggressive dynamic resolution in portable mode. Can get pretty low res on some stages. Frame rate also sometimes wobbles a bit but nothing that impacts the game.

TS2 was crap, as much as I wanted it to be Goldeneye 2. Used to bring it out at gaming parties, and it never sparked any enthusiasm, particularly compared to Mario Kart DD, Wario Ware, Monkeyball and F-Zero GX.

I remember rushing out and getting Timesplitters 2 after the positive review in Edge. Turned out to be another Turok 2 situation, unfortunately (as in a bizarrely favourable Edge review for a shit FPS with lots of obvious faults).

I bought Ultra like 3 week’s ago! Disappointed to say the least. 

Then again, maybe this is ‘death by too much choice’ ? I’d love to play Alpha 2 again though, so many hours spent on the Saturn version, probably my favourite street fighter.

I remember us excitedly rigging up Xbox System Link for Timesplitters 2, after about 6 months of Halo.

A full second of input lag. Unplayable.

I bought Yooka-Laylee last night from the South African store (it was £27ish). I’m happy to say it continues the tradition of games just being better to play on the Switch, as I’m enjoying it so far - a lot more than I did on PS4. It just suits a handheld much better. I’m also very happy about the new ‘short speech’ option as the voices made me want to kill things.

I'll be interested to hear if you think it holds up as you get further in. I quite liked it at the beginning too but the levels get so sprawling and directionless I just started finding it a chore. It's incredible how compact and dense the levels in Odyssey are by comparison.

Yeah, I’m not expecting it to get anywhere near the dizzy heights of Super Mario Odyssey. I didn’t enjoy any of it on the PS4 though, but I’m finding it a lot more palatable on the smaller screen. Maybe the levels don’t seem as big on the handheld, or because I have the benefit of putting it into standby whenever I fancy.
