So, it seems I need one of those memory card things. I have no experience of these since buying one for my camera around 5 years back.

It it seems there are different grades? Will a basic one do for playing a couple of digital games on? Or am I better off moving data for cart games to the memory card and using the switch internal storage for digital stuff?

Are games slower if on a memory card ?

The A1 standard was invented as a baseline for cards that would have applications run off them on mobile phones, I'd recommend one of those. Sandisk are reliable, so look here. Ignore all the "Extreme" ones, I don't think you need them. https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_11?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sandisk+a1+micro+sd&sprefix=sandisk+a1+%2Caps%2C127&crid=10LU1Y4MFXKTC

Out on ps4 and xbox one, mac and linux too.

Get enter the gungeon when that comes out, twin stick shooter roguelite, it's brilliant. and the binding of isaac, I still prefer the original that you can get for 80p at the minute on steam but the remake is where most of the content is

Thanks. I have Binding of Isaac, and will definitely get those others when they arrive on Switch.

Yeah it's pretty lazy and too easy to just brush aside accusations of sexism with, well it's just part of their culture.

I don’t think it’s sexism when, in this title at least, there are also some super buff mega doodz.

Has anyone bought Vostok Inc.? Is it any good? The reviews seem favourable, so might take a punt.

I caned it on the PS4. Absolutely excellent game. A great amalgam of clicker and twin stick shooter. Great design, compulsive core gameplay loop, and some really funny moments in the script. Really liked it a lot, and the dev seems like a good egg as well.

I've started playing BotW finally, and I can already tell it's pretty special. However I've had to stop this evening as my left joycon stick is drifting forwards constantly, so Link started walking forwards with no input from me. I tried recalibrating but that didn't help. Even powering it down completely. Anyone else had a similar issue? My Switch is brand new, only played this evening.

What you are experiencing there is a well-known issue. The only way to fix it is to either send it to Nintendo, which takes a couple of weeks, or open it up yourself and insert a small amount of conductive foam, which is exactly what Nintendo do if you send it to them. Check Google and YouTube for examples of how to do it.

Many, many people from this forum have had the problem, myself included. I fixed mine myself and haven't had any issues since.

You can't move/copy games from the internal storage to a microSD card. You can't even choose where to store things with a card inserted. Having a slow card could potentially cause performance issues in some games.

It’s clunky but you can transfer games from internal storage to SD. First you select them and Archive them. You then select the archived game on the main menu and it redownloads to the SD card.

Actually, now I’ve written that it’s not really transferring at all is it. Just downloading. Again.

Oh, well that's annoying! Is it a fault with the hardware? I'm amazed that of all the tech I've bought recently the only item to have a manufacturing fault is a Nintendo one. Can you link me to a guide you know of? I would send it back but waiting a few weeks after starting Zelda would be torture.

Edit: found a guide, just need to find a screwdriver and the box for my last graphics card then...

If there's a fault with one of the Joycons do you have to send the whole lot back or just the Joycon ? The thought of people taking their Switches apart makes me genuinely nervous (but then I'm not the sort of person that would have any sort of clue about that sort of thing)

If you only have to send the Joycon back do that and buy a Pro Controller in the meantime, you'll want one anyway eventually as they are a thing of beauty

Or buy a second set of joycons, for 4P stuff. I got the neon Green/Pink set. I keep one set on the switch and one set out for use when playing on the TV. When the TV set run out of batteries, I swap them for the switch set.

I noticed my local CEX had lots of loose joycons for sale individually, including the Neon Yellow ARMS ones. I quite fancy one of those to replace the Neon Red, which is too similar to the Neon Pink. Swaps, anyone?

My experience of playing it with my nephew was identical to Clippa's.

A perfect combination of  laughing at the wobbly characters fumbling or him deliberately trying to drag me to my death and high fiving when we co-operated to accomplish a trickier section together. It's ace fun in two player.

But it's £60! I mean, I like a good controller, but Christ...

It's unacceptable that there's still problems with the left joycon. They must have gone through their initial production run 4 or 5 times over by now.

I need to send mine back because it has dropped occasionally and I do if worry I'm not sitting the right way or whatever, but I'll miss not having it whilst it gets fixed.

I have same problems with my day one grey Joycons and day two neon red/blue Joycons. I just can't be arsed sending them back because I use either Pro Controller or handheld 99.9% of the time. I should do, though. It's pretty shit they were released defective.
