milko
Is there a way to buy two games at once on the eshop? I thought I'd use that Paypal thing and buy two £15 games - cunning, huh? - but it always goes straight to payment unless I miss something, there's no basket. I guess I might want Snipperclips as well which'd do it in one.

You can however just top up your eshop credit with however much money you want, so you can top up your wallet with the combined amount using a single payment, and then buy your games.

(to confirm - click through that offer and link your account, buy a game, add paypal credit of 20 or more, check out, get a paypal receipt for that amount minus £5)

I used the same offer in September and just used it again

Alexlotl
Package from CEX today with mint copies of Puyo Tetris and Bomberman. Good customer experience all round. I guess the indestructible nature of Switch carts combined with the lack of manuals means the odds are good for getting decent condition used stuff. Gave Bomberman a quick spin against one bots, and my god I’m bad at it. That’s five Switch games in a month, and another coming for Christmas. Captain Kelsten
Did anyone actually buy skyrim? Must admit I'm tempted to buy it for the third time, and maybe even complete it!
Corranga
Gone back to Rabbids after hitting some frustration with Mario and Zelda dlc and being crap at Isaac. I'd saved immediately before the world 3 boss. What a time to pick out back up after a few months, loved it! I bought Skyrim (actually twice this month as I got VR to, but think I'll sell that on) 2.99 plus some Nectar points was too good to refuse, but Xenoblade has shipped so Skyrim won't get touched for a while

Had more fun breaking the levelling / crafting systems and endlessly raiding caves I was a sneaky archer cat. This time I'm a high elf, spells only, glass canon mage type. I've already been to places I've never seen before. This game is stupid big. Plus the DLC is new for me. Plus being portable is fucking MAZING. Just a bit hard to see in the dark in the daytime. Captain Kelsten
Thanks. Dunno who I'm trying to kid, though: I've not finished botw, Odyssey and I've got xenoblade 2 coming tomorrow. Skyrim ain't gonna get a look in.
robdood
I honestly don't get the allure of Xenoblade. For the past 20 years I've tried a ton of JRPGs and they just do nothing for me.

Captain Kelsten
I'm the same, but sometimes I fall for the hype and think "maybe THIS will be the one!", and then it never is. It took me 20 years to finally finish Final Fantasy 7. It's also difficult to justify £50 on a game I've got sat downstairs on my laptop, and costs tuppence on every other platform. mdn2
It's definitely a JRPG. It's action based, but still a JRPG.

robdood
Party of characters. Characters have very set 'styles' / abilities. Random encounters while exploring an overworld. Combat is (effectively) turn based. Nonsense anime story. Levelling up / strategy is more important than skill or execution.

SMD
Honestly, to me it's a single player MMO.

They're not random and it's not turn based. But sounds like you have a specific taste so yeah, you won't like it.

So is Xenoblade more like Diablo/WoW in terms of having moves that work on a cooldown, etc? To be honest the scenes I've seen in trailers, and cringey anime tropes (i.e. female protagonist who seems about 16 with enormous knockers and super powers) just turn me off, these days. I didn't mention FFXII I wouldn't call that a JRPG in a traditional sense anyway but I'm not going to argue about it because it's clear we're not talking about gameplay only here.
