Today is a good day, last night before I left off, work said to me "You've accrued extra holiday we weren't aware of through working overtime, can you take a week off" I'm already off for a fortnight over Christmas so I've took this week starting Today,

 

Not only That, it's payday, I've just downloaded Rocket League and Splatoon is now downloading, that's my week sorted

PrimeNow is going to be a local depot so it's not especially weird that it's in stock nationally but not locally.   They still fucked up of course.

Aye, that's true. I'm getting quite disappointed with Prime. They've let me down a couple of times in the last few months. I ordered a book off them last month and they sent me the incorrect edition (an older version). I complained so they asked me to return it and they'd post the correct one out... they just posted the same edition back to me. In the end they just ended up taking the book off the store and asking for the old edition back. I wasn't expecting to have to make two trips to the post office for using Amazon Prime.

 

Anyway, that's off topic. Yesterday, in BotW, I found the Master Sword!! :omg:

I know it's literally never going to happen, but I'd prefer Bloodborne :(  

 

I'd prefer FROM create a new Soulsborne IP/game on Switch tbh, play to the systems tech strength and make something new.

That's Splatoon for me - will get 2-3 matches in depending on mode (Ranked matches can be over pretty quickly if you mess it up, especially Rainmaker).

Loving LA Noire on my switch. Always thought it was a good game, but it fits the switch so well and for some reason seems more "wow!" than Skyrim does when playing portable.

 

Motion/touch controls are pointless, but it looks amazing and feels like a game from this gen rather than the last one.

So with the Splatoon download teasing me, what do people recommend for someone who's never played it ? Straight into online or play a bit of single player ? Also has online got any sort of levelling up where by you can buy / unlock better gear ? Is there plenty of stuff to unlock / buy ?

I'd much prefer some kind of exclusive Souls game. Dead Souls, Desperate Souls, Donkey Souls, just ... something unique. But I'd definitely take even just Demon's Souls.

Single-player first, get used to it. I think the game will force a tutorial on you anyway, if I recall correctly. You won't need to complete the campaign, but it definitely helps out in terms of getting to grips with the feel of the game and, most importantly, how essential it is to paint to move.

 

In terms of gear and levels, don't worry yet. All that will come naturally to you, it's pretty well balanced in the way it doles everything out to you.Basically just find what feels good, and learn your own strengths and weaknesses. You may find you're a Charger natural, or you may find you are best just Rollin'!

Plenty of people seem to be enjoying Zelda and Skyrim - is that proof of concept enough? I would definitely buy a Dark Souls Switch title. I'd maybe buy the proposed collection despite owning all 3 elsewhere too. I'd be disappointed if they made a Dark Souls lite for Switch (assuming they do something in that vein).

At what point did all Switch games suddenly have to be playable in 'short bursts'? I've certainly played 'long bursts' of Zelda, Mario, Splatoon etc. I think there is plenty of room for games at both ends of the spectrum.

 

The Switch can be used as a handheld, but it's not 100% one - and I'd hate it if everyone started developing with that mentality.
