Was thinking the same, but the comments about the online being dead puts me off a bit.

I'll be picking it up for 4P local party play, I think. That, Mario Kart and Puyo Puyo Tetris should make a pretty good party-pack, all playable with two sets of joy-cons.

Max The Curse of Brotherhood is a great little game!

This is one of the nice things about the Switch. Where I would usually think “Ugh, look at this company trying to cash in on an old game”, I’m now thinking “Great, I can play that game I loved again on the go”.

Dark Souls next please!

Is Rive worth playing? I did Steamworld Dig 2 a couple of weeks ago and now I'm almost done with the bulk of SMO, I'm on the lookout for a new indie type game.

The game is actually quite good but I've heard the Switch port is a bit shoddy. I haven't played the Switch version myself so can't confirm.

I'd heard and read exactly the opposite:

We previously spoke about your work with Engine Software and the push to deliver 60fps across all areas. Were there any notable chokepoints with this, or was it simply a case of steadily working through the project?

The original team came back together to dig deep into the existing game and fix a lot of chokepoints. Realistically speaking, Switch isn’t as powerful as the PS4, but with the extra time we got we managed to squeeze out a lot more performance than we expected. The result really fits the Ultimate Edition moniker, with faster loading times and fewer noticeable hiccups during checkpoints for instance.

Did you hit the target of native 720p portable and 1080p docked, or was a little trickery needed with the resolution?

Yes we did, it looks super clean on both an HDTV or the Switch’s built-in screen. We didn’t consider anything lower than full resolution to be honest, same goes for the 60fps refresh.

I have a new policy that whenever I'm about to drop a fortune on something I really don't need I buy a little switch game to scratch the new gaming itch - in this case I stopped myself buying an in stock xbox one x on argos by triple dipping on Rocket League (though man logic says its really only a double dip as got it free on PSN first time round).

I do really need to see cloud saves on this soon though, makes me quite anxious taking it out thinking that everything I've ever done is sat on the device and could be gone in an instant.

My other regret is having bought zelda originally on cart, the download is still a massive £60 so hoping (thought doubt) it gets some kind of black friday deal somewhere.

Think you might be getting mixed up with Rime, which supposedly *is* a shoddy port.

I remember the rive devs posting this on the steam forum :D - http://steamcommunity.com/app/278100/discussions/0/598198356175968452/#c490123938446629191

It's very stop start. They just filled the game full of checkpoints instead of balancing the difficulty. I wouldn't bother personally. Much better twin stick shooters out there.

On the Switch? (Genuine question, 'cos I don't know!) :D

Skyrim today makes for my 10th Switch cartridge. And 27th Switch game in total. I haven't switched my PS4 on in months because of it. A year ago I never would have believed it would have fit into my life as easily or as well as it has done.

Mario this morning on the way in to work. Skyrim on the way home. And Xenoblade in 2 weeks is pretty much going to dominate my gaming life until well into the new year.

I've bravely said I'll hold off and get it as a Christmas present. It's going to be torture.

TBH, if it's as good as the original Xenoblade Chronicles, then it single-handedly justifies the Switch for me.

There's no chance I'm waiting until Christmas for it. My other half is getting me the limited edition as a present but I'm allowed it on release, otherwise I'd buy it myself.

If it's as good as the first game then it'll be my game of the year, easily.

I have Mario Kart coming in the post from @auntyclimax, and Xenoblade 2 coming for Chrimbo, and, uh, that's it. I actualyl don't have my Switch yet - off to fetch it from the PO pretty much now!

I intend to walk into CEX tomorrow with my unboxed Wii U and a bunch of trader trash and emerge with a few of Zelda, Mario Odyssey, Rabbids, Arms, Puyo Puyo Tetris and Bomberman R. I have some long train journeys next week, so could do with something to get my teeth into, but not something that's going to still be unfinished come Xenoblade Day Christmas.

Zelda

Digital:

Kamiko

Fast RMX

I've had Splatoon 2 and Mario + Rabbids but sold them on.

Got nothing on pre-order for the Switch and it's going to be next year before I buy anything on it providing Yoshi / Kirby is released then.
