Guys. I was trying to decide if I wanted to play The Fire in the Flood. Then I remembered I got it free on the xbox a while ago. I'm not sure about the game yet. I haven't played it enough. The soundtrack however is fucking amazing

I think I saw that game on Giant Bomb a while ago. It's looked awful.

Considering Nintendo's consolidated their two hardware lines, i'd say 8 years is the amount of years we'll see the Switch supported with 1st & 2nd party titles.

Everybody waiting for additional media functionality should probably wait till spring next year or so is my wager. Nintendo seems hell bent on getting the Switch to be known as a games console first and all purpose media device second. They did something similar with the DS.

Can't say I care much about Netflix seeing as it's build into about a dozen other devices including my TV.   Daft not to have it I guess but hardly critical. 

 

The lack of cloud saves is pretty unforgivable though.  Especially as it's a piece of piss to implement.

I think it's very wise to keep Netflix off as long as possible. As weird as it seems.

 

Stops it being lazily considered a tablet. Because deep down, Nintendo have conceded the portable space to phones, and has set it sights squarely on the portable-but-mainly-within-the-house space that iPads take.

Switch is here, popped home at lunch to sign for it, had a fiddle but didn't even plug it in before I had to head back to work :( and I'm only home for an hour after work before I start a 6 hour bar shift :(:(

 

Good thing is, the Mrs who was massively pissed off that I bought it was peering over my shoulder asking questions like "So you can play it still while I'm watching telly" and "Can we both play Mario Kart on it" So I think I got off lightly in the end.

 

Just watched a tutorial vid on how to set it up (which looks pretty self explanatory) the two weeks until payday with nothing to play are going to be a killer !

Zelda,

Mario Kart

Splatoon 2

Mario vs. Rabbids

Fire Emblem Warriors next week (I think?)

and Mario Odyssey the week after.

And Xenoblade in December.

 

and, of course there are the non-Nintendo titles too...

and then the indies.

 

I think you've made the right choice.  It's a good time to early adopt a Nintendo!

I had my brother and two friends round for food and a few games last night and one of my friends brought his Switch.

 

I've not had so much fun gaming in years!

 

4 player gaming with mates in the same room is just brilliant.

 

We played Bomberman, Mario kart and then this crazy cooking game called Overcooked. Tears of laughter it was so much fun.
