So basically you're only interested in big budget AAA games?

Not exactly, I recently bought Cuphead and am enjoying that - it's just that nothing on the eShop really interests me presently. Luckily there's splatoon which is a port worth the cost of entry.

Yes, yes I understand this must be heresy to a lot of you.

Not to me, I generally don't like indie games much. I prefer AAA games. Indie stuff seems more like the sort of stuff I have my phone for. One reason is I'm not a huge fan of retro graphic style (despite growing up on it) and that I don't have enough free time. I never quite understand how some of these things would get a look in when you have Zelda, Splatoon and so on. Most indie games don't come out too well in comparison. But to each their own!

There are notable exceptions to my general avoidance of indie games, of course; Inside being one of the best. That's like a AAA experience to me, though. Not some retro graphic side scroller contra light thing.

So far indie games on the switch are being used to fill a dearth of third party releases by major publishers.

Now here's a man who can cut through the pages of salvating switch fanboyism, with a bit of sense and factual straight talk.....

Been trying to figure out whether to buy Golf Story or Stardew Valley to take on holiday with me (as well as Mario + Rabbids).

And now it seems Axiom Verge is on the platform.

I have no idea which to pick. Axiom Verge looks like it may be the safest bet.

All of them.

If you like Metroid games... you'll love Axiom Verge.

Just ordered a Switch with Mario + Rabbids (£289), Zelda (£48), Mario Kart (£42), pro controller (£60), screen protector (£9) and Mario Odyssey pre-order (£40).

£488 :( Can anyone recommend the best carry case to take it to £500?

I need help.

Xbox One X Scorpio Edition cancelled though.

The official 'tough' case is the one I use. It's a better fit than the lighter 'soft' case and feels a bit more reassuring. It's not hard plastic or anything, just a more robust design with a kind of golf ball dimpled effect. Fifteen quid.

Wow, those games have really held their value (more than usual for Nintendo games). I think I paid less for Zelda back in May.

For anyone else looking for deals before Mariodyssey, Game are doing a Switch plus one of Zelda/MK8/Slatoon 2 for £299.99.

Stardew Valley is digital crack

If one didn't get on with Harvest Moon or Animal Crossing, how likely is one to enjoy this? The positive word of mouth is incredibly strong, but I have my doubts.

I didn’t play Harvest Moon and hated Animal Crossing.

I cannot stop with Stardew Valley, it is extraordinarily compulsive to the level that I need to be really careful about picking up the Switch just for a quick (game) days of farming/mining/fishing/pottering/etc as it invariably leads to me losing another hour or two.
