I will be getting the physical/boxed/actual real life/cartridge version of Axiom Verge myself, when I have the time to actually play it that is.

EDIT: Apparently the Multiverse version has been delayed here and wont come out until later in November.

Axiom Verge is *brilliant*.. I had it on PS4 but didn't really give it enough time.

Everything is better on Switch.

I've got it on PC and I'm pretty sure for the PS4 and/or Vita too.

Not played it. Would play it on the Switch.

Picross is making me laugh, I tap away on a puzzle for 5m + then suddenly realise I've gone horribly wrong somewhere, tap the error check option and the screen lights up with red exclamation marks.

Cheats never prosper. You should be ashamed of yourself.

It does play a good game of Picross though. I find the puzzles more logical than on the 3DS series, which could at times feel more trial and error. I never find myself at a point where I can not progress, unless I realise that I have made a mistake and end up having a big strop and switching it off and then coming back a few minutes later and trying again.

...they look the same?

I agree with you, I struggle to see much of a difference. I'm sure somebody will be along to tell us we're clearly blind (or lying) in a moment though. ;)

No vids of two-player that I've seen - it does get a small mention in the (positive) Eurogamer piece today though:

There's a splitscreen mode that's available throughout the game - the framerate takes a hit, understandably, but it's also perfectly playable when playing on the move with a pair of JoyCons.

There’s a demo of spelunky party up. It appears to be nothing like spelunky and a bit crap.

Spelunker. It's a multiplayer update of an old 8-bit title.

The demo has been up for months. It's ok, but expecting it to be like Spelunky would put you off.

Not Spelunker? Not the real thing. A childlike rip off.

You won't be seeing Spelunky for a while.

It was only 4 months ago Davychu posted on Twitter.

Doh! Well that explains why it’s nothing like spelunky. It’s still shit though.

I'm almost certain to get one of these before the end of the year.

Is there a good case that everyone has settled on as being the one to have? The official Nintendo one looks ok to me. I gather the Nintendo screen protectors are rubbish. Which one should I get?  Has the disconnecting Joycon issue been fixed (without posting it off to be repaired)?

Thanks in advance.

As a noob to this:

@Wahwah* the ORZLY screen protector seemed to be the one people recommended. I applied it last night and it seemed fine enough. I also got the Hori case but there's loads of them out there.

@ everyone

Is there anything I want to be setting up US/Japan store accounts for?

I have Mario Kart and Golf Story so far and am certainly enjoying myself. I thought there might be more demos to try!

The official case is fine, with some caveats.

Although protective it's not a hard case so if you want to sling it into a bag with abandon and throw other things on top, you might prefer something sturdier.

There isn't sufficient space to store the joycon grips. This is fine if you just want to play out and about in handheld mode, but not if you fancy a bit of table top multiplayer. They'll go in, there's even a mesh compartment for them, but it makes the case bulge and doesn't feel right.

Apart from that it looks really nice, has a built in stand, storage for 5 carts, and the screen protector does its job well. I've not had any issues on that front.

I know it's a bit of a meme these days to say so and so would be perfect on the Switch, but I'm playing Battle Chasers on PC at the moment and holy hell will this be perfect on the Switch. It's an amazing game. Every one should mark down the December release cos it's up there with Fire Emblem as a great fun little timesink. Can't praise it enough.

A Russian and South African account are more useful - you can get cheaper games from these eshops.

I'm still grinding my way through Zelda, trying to finish it before Skyrim comes out. But I'm tempted to pick up a little game to play on the side.  I'm not a big fan of retro graphics, and want something I can dip in and out of when I get fed up with Zelda bosses (why did they even put them in there?  *sigh*), so what would people recommend?  Golf Story and Axiom Verge don't really appeal at all, and Steamworld Dig 2 seems very similar to the first, which I've only recently played through on the Vita.

I suppose I could look at one of the bigger titles, but I don't want to spend much as it's just a filler until Skyrim arrives and takes over my gaming life.
