I booked a week off from the 30th at least partly to play Zelda.

Those of you with a Mario pre-order will have spotted at least a minor flaw in that plan.

Imagine the look on my face when I found out my office is closed on the 27th and I've got the day off by default.

Please STFU about PCs. I’ll have to listen to enough people talking about PC gaming when I eventually end up in hell.

Can anyone confirm if Clippa has ever had a conversation about anything in human existence that didn’t involve him saying “Actually I think you’ll find that on PC…”?

This got quite the crowd on Youtube yesterday and rightly so as it was a lot of fun! Didn't manage to catch everything (as the finals happened around 2AM Dutchy time) but there were some very entertaining matches and close races (loved the Super Mario Bros Deluxe one). Overall a big improvement with regards to production over previous years as well.

For indie games like Axiom Verge, Stardew Valley, Steamworld Dig 2 etc there is no compromise. These aren't games that require a powerhouse system and imo are often more suited to handheld play. On the other hand something like Zelda is best suited to a large screen because of its expansive environments. It really adds to that sense of scale.

Also with regards to the joycons - One of my favourite ways of playing is either sitting or lying down with the Switch in my lap or resting on its case stand, split joycon in each hand. Maximum comfort. I rarely worry about battery life because I never play for that long in one continuous session, but if I did I'd just use my power bank or adaptor.

I understand what you're saying but in this day and age I think being portable is an important factor. I think not being portable is a compromise.

 I meant for portability. You have to make some compromises if portability is important to you, people do this when they buy a laptop pc for example (oops, there's me "banging on" about pc's again. I hope nobody gets "triggered" again  ).

Oh right, you're playing in a different room?

Good god yes. I'm not a light-averse hermit.

I'm quite surprised that Axiom Verge hasn't even reached the top 15 on the UK eShop chart. I guess launching on the same day as Stardew Valley didnt help, but I still thought it'd fill a nice Super Metroid-sized hole for a lot of Nintendo fans.

Doesn't seem to have caused too many issues - they seem happy with how it's selling:
