Same issue here. About 4 times in the last 2 weeks.

Yep, and with Golf Story and Picross last week, and Stardew and Axiom Verge out soon, and (of interest to me) Ninjago this month as well... I'm very poor suddenly.

So, my brother bought me a Neon Switch for my birthday with Zelda. We picked up Golf Story. What's the best screen protector? And why didn't anybody tell me that the controller in the joycon grip is straight garbage unless you have Trump hands?!

Just when I'm back home and ready to buy Golf Story the eShop is down due to server maintenance. Why does the bloody eShop or... anything that Nintendo currently provides need maintenance in the first place? They're literally just jpegs and links to purchase a product. 

 

Sad.

Happened to me last night. Second time now.

 

It must be a common problem because Nintendo have a support article on it:

Have you left a game in sleep when it did it? It's happened to me, but only with Sonic Mania.

Yeah, it was Picross, but have been leaving that in sleep mode multiple times all week and its been fine.

Well, yes in my case as I can buy it on the site and it'll download on my Switch at home ready for when I get there.

 

But otherwise, no.

I bought Golf Story on the website at work last week but when I got home it still needed to download. Seems like you need to wake the Switch before it will start the download which seems to make it kind of useless? I thought it would work like the PS4 does.

They download in sleep mode, so long as you have "allow downloads in sleep mode" turned on.

 

It's how I bought it.
