OK, so I found a thing out.

 

I've been playing most of SteamWorld Dig 2 with a Pro Controller, but after completing it I've mainly been playing it handheld, with the joycon. I'd not noticed any difference, but in the trials there are some pixel perfect wall jumps you have to do, and I was struggling. This bit specifically (very minor spoilers, skip to 3:43):

And guess what? You can't do it with joycon. They simply won't let you jump high enough.

 

I switched back to the pro controller, and did it first time. Switched back, not a chance. With the pro controller I can do it almost every time but with the joycon I can't even get close.

The Mini switch dock I bought works good going to test it more later, but works well so far
