Surely it will have motion aiming, have the developers said otherwise?

Why would it? Doom PS4 didn't have gyro aiming.

Obviously we've had quite a few FPS games doing pointer aiming in the past, but I suspect we won't see any on Switch because of the huge drift issue. Plus it's partly a portable machine. Splatoon style makes more sense, but we've yet to see another console shooter do Splatoon style gyro aiming.

I reckon Metroid Prime 4 will though.

And it'll be 60 fps:)

Yeah an the beauty of it is that Nintendo rarely if ever talk about it, because obsessing over numbers ain't much fun.

Nintendo don't talk about it because they always put gameplay first. The only time I can remember a Nintendo game being choppy is BotW. And that was clearly advanced for the hardware.

Rllmuk system threads tend to be grinning idiots sliding down joy rainbows with a bunch of 50 pound notes in their hands.

But yeah as I've said: People love to love the Switch at the moment.

But if Zelda, MK8, ARMS, Odyssey are anything to go by then MP4 will make DOOM look like a piece of shit! I can't even imagine how good it's going to be. Pretty sure it will run at 60fps though while still showcasing those gorgeous Nintendo Visuals™ and everyone in this thread will cry because it will drain the battery in mere minutes while on the go.

But that's the thing, I love that the Nintendo programmers obsess about it but Nintendo don't talk about it much, because the experience is not about numbers. It's about fun.

But if the numbers make you happy, go right ahead. I enjoy the painting, not the brush strokes.

I just don’t buy this “You just love the Switch at the minute!” and “Still In the honeymoon period!” shit.

This console has the strongest first six month line up than any console ever. This isn’t a PS4 or Bone where the first year was a mega fucking drought. We’ve had genuine generation defining games. In the first six months.

People are enjoying their Switches because it’s a really fucking good console with quality games that allows you to play when, where and how you want without much compromise.

Developers and publishers only bang on about 4K, 60 FPS and teraflops when what they’re offering isn’t very good in the first place. Nintendo let the quality of the games do the talking.

Nintendo don't really talk about much though, tbh.

+1, obviously, but can you show your working here?
Which other gaming platforms do you own? Why would you be more likely to buy the switch version of any game? Is this regardless of price, performance etc.?
Is portability a big factor for you?

Why won't you be buying doom, you don't like first person shooters?

I also have a PS4. And every other platform bar an Xbone.

I don't like FPSs generally, but I did enjoy Doom. But mainly I wouldn't buy it because too many other games.

Yes, the portability is a factor, mainly because being able to play a game without needing the TV is a big thing for me now. 30 or 60FPS isn't an issue for me at all because I can't tell the difference. Graphics aren't important either. Price is, but I fully expect Doom on the Switch to be £10-15 at some point anyway. I rarely buy games at release.

I wouldn't say that Switch's first year line-up is better then any console ever. PS2 had SSX, GTA 3, FFX, MGS2 and Gran Turismo 3 all within the same year. GBA had a similar good start with getting both Mario Kart SC and Advance Wars close after release alongside some stellar launch titles like Castlevania.

However, what I will say is that Switch has had the best first year line-up of any Nintendo platform in the past 15-ish years. Gamecube had some good stuff but the drought set in quite fast. The DS took a while to get going. Wii had Gamecube holdovers till Galaxy came out so that was OK, but not great. 3DS and Wii U I consider the outright nadir with Nintendo having nothing until their first Christmas. Switch has been quite the turn-around.

Is that a dig at the X or the PS4 Pro? I’m finding it hard to keep up with whether power is important these days.

I mean, of course, it’s always about the gameplay, but us Xbox owners have had to endure years of torment about it being shit bacuase it’s underpowered, but now with the X on the horizon it seems like that’s just too much power.

The Switch is a lovely little console though and it’ll be the perfect accompaniment to my X when I get it.

No, we've been through this before. I physically cannot see the difference between 30 and 60. In one of the tests I struggled to tell 15 from 30.

So in a side by side test you can't tell the difference? I can't believe that's even possible.

I couldn't see the 59 fps in Mario Kart, but that's pretty amazing.

Yeah, your eyes might be buggered but you'd still feel it, surely, especially on a mouse.

SNES9X.

Super Mario World.

Set Frameskip to '1' (30fps).

Tell me that doesn't look, and play like shite - Not you of course, but anyone who reckons they can't tell the difference between 30/60.

I was about to pre order Fifa 18 on Amazon but it's showing "Currently unavailable" even though every other format can be ordered. Why would that be? Is the Switch physical version definitely out on Friday next week?

Yeah have noticed it has been going in and out of stock the last couple of weeks.
