Had a proper heart in mouth moment: for the first time in ages I took the switch with me on my journey to work. Get on the train, press the power button on the switch. Nothing. Press the home button. Nothing. It's been plugged into the dock, the battery can't be dead, can it? No, I saw 100% battery flash up when I undocked it. Has it been knocked in my bag? Crap, what if it's had a knock and now won't turn on? I held down the power button, hoping it'd reset it. Got a power menu. Phew! Not totally dead, then. Ok, power options...restart. Nothing. Hold it down again. Nothing. Start googling possible causes and solutions on my phone. Hold the power button again. Try power off, this time. Try turning it back on. Nothing. Try again. The switch logo appears on screen. It boots up normally. Everything seems fine. PHEW. :omg:

I've played about 10 minutes of this and put it down. Not because I don't enjoy it but because I was enjoying it loads :D and I would rather experience it all with the full game :) Very much looking forward too this.

Do you know if the demo of this game is part of the actual game?  .. does that make sense?

With Bravely Default and Bravely Second, Square produced specific demo content so you weren't spoiling your progress or needing to repeat on the actual game.  Wondered if they did the same with this?

I'm really starting to wish I'd gone all digital with my Switch.

I'm somebody who puts the games back in their cases after I've been out and about so the constant boxing and unboxing to out in the carry case thing is getting old! As is cartridge swapping when I want to play something different.

Are the save files interchangeable between physical and digital versions of the same game? I ask because, y'know, Nintendo.

I really enjoyed Primrose's path in the demo - I've yet to do the other guy.  Once I understood what was going on with combat, it was really quite easy, but I imagine this is really the tutorial area.   Themes were surprisingly adult - so not one for the kids, regardless of how it looks.

I'm hoping that the whole game either lets you start where you left off, or is quite different in content.  Having said that, there's another 6 characters to play.

I never felt they'd actually 'gone' in the first place. The WiiU was massively under appreciated due to the total lack of marketing for whatever reason. Looking back it feels like they were only using it as a live prototype concept to build towards the Switch vision.

It may seem pedantic, but I actually find it quite amazing that in your list of 32 upcoming titles on a Nintendo console you still managed to miss 5 off!

  • Rogue Trooper Redux
  • Sausage Sports Club
  • Away Journey to the Unexpected
  • Floor Kids
  • Flat Heroes

I wasn't trying to give out a comprehensive list - it was just stuff that was in the specific video I linked. I bet there is way more than just 5 more!

I can't be certain (have not read that it is anywhere) but playing it, it plays  like it might be the opening section to the game for both characters so I thought I would hold off just in case it is. I would be a little disheartened if I got to the end of the demo to find that I will have to do it all again when the full game comes out.

Folks - both Golf Story AND SteamWorld Dig 2 are out on Thursday. And it's possible Stardew Valley is out that day too.

:omg:

If stardew valley is out I know what I will be doing ALL weekend. I have refused to buy this until now waiting for the Switch version ^_^

Well, Stardew Valley is confirmed for September. So if it isn't this week, it'll be next.

But I want it *nowwwwww*....

I'm off on holiday - on Thursday. If Stardew isn't the perfect 'next to the pool in the sun with a glass of wine' game, I don't know what is.

Can you play it without being able to see the screen?

I don't think it's confirmed for anything is it? They're waiting for it to pass cert and then they'll announce a date when they know it's good to go, rather than announcing, it possibly failing for some stupid reason (cert yay) and then people being let down.
