Golf Story is out this month. There are two weeks of this month left. That's how long non-believers have got until they're forced to bend the knee to Switch.

Not gonna lie, this was pretty much the trigger for buying now.

Even better is the fact that FAST just had a bunch of new tracks (well remixes) released and they patched the AI so it's not as rubberbanding as before.

This makes me want to go back and give it another chance. The rubber banding was awful.

Unless they make a generic Wii/U emulator I doubt Platinum's games would sell enough to justify a port.

A Nier: Automata special edition would probably go down better with the weeb audience in Japan and abroad. Even a Viewtiful Joe sequel would probably do better.

Do you reckon that we'll get Hyrule Warriors and perhaps even W101 soon? Gutted that I've never had the chance to play those games. :(

You are getting Fire Emblem Warriors instead.

Hyrule Warriors was pretty good. My copy of W101 is still sealed. I'll get around to it...one day.

Played about 40 minutes of Pan Pan and enjoying it so far. It's one of those games that drops you in a world with little guidance, so it's easy to stumble across puzzles that you can't do yet, but just trying something else nearby tends to result in progress.

It reminds me of when I'd borrow odd Amiga games from relatives as a really young kid,  when I didn't understand games or come to them with many expectations of what I might encounter, and the mystery and sense of strangeness that came with that. It's pretty standard fare, puzzle-wise, but the delivery lends itself well to that vibe, I think.

Yep. Same as on the 3DS now.

I assume Wii U is still out in the cold on this point.

Saw my first switch in a store today and I'm tempted to pick it up prior to Mario coming out though may need to convince the boss.

I was wondering is there any update on the online service or virtual console as I don't want to buy everything again.

The NBA comparison looks all well and good until the gameplay starts. I guess if you can take 30 fps you'll be fine. In portable mode it will be a bit less noticeable for sure. The 'not fitting on a cartridge' debacle is a bit of a shitter though.

I wish they'd followed through with their patent applications and put some extra power in the dock so TV gaming was closer to their competitors.

Is this in comparison to sticking headphones into a PS4/xbone controller? I gave up on doing that with PS4 - audio was constantly breaking up. Direct into an amp/tv is the way forward. Having said that, it is a bit disappointing Switch doesn't have Bluetooth headphone capability.

It may seem pedantic, but I actually find it quite amazing that in your list of 32 upcoming titles on a Nintendo console you still managed to miss 5 off!

  • Rogue Trooper Redux
  • Sausage Sports Club
  • Away Journey to the Unexpected
  • Floor Kids
  • Flat Heroes

I have Stardew Valley already on my PC, where I think I played about the opening hour or so of it. It wasn't bad, I'm sure I could have gotten a lot more from it if it wasn't on my PC which entailed too much effort to play anything on at times. Always ready to play, including on the train, will see me put much more time into it. I promise you, @clippa, the portability card can't be overplayed. From turning my console on to playing whatever game I recently was in usually takes about 5 seconds, and even if I decide to play a different game it's never more than 30. I've yet to endure a forced update of system or game that means I'm not playing yet, updates exist but there is always the option to do them later. And, don't get me wrong, it's not just about evangelising the Switch, as I'm pretty certain I'll double-dip on some of the games above. Particularly Wargroove, unless it includes cross-play. It's about the convenience, the "Now-factor" really is the "Wow-factor" that first reveal promised it would be.

Oh my god, tried playing the Switch again today. So if you play on the TV there is NO way of using headphones?! The only way to use headphones is if you use the tablet?

Absolutely mental if that's really the case.

Just plug the headphones into the Switch?

You haven’t done put the switch in upside down again have you

When you say the switch do you mean the tablet? So could I in theory be playing a game on tv but have earphones in the tablet without the tablet being turned on? Like just have it sat by my side?
