Here is a comment that is going to make me seem like a troll but Splatoon2 and Arms are not what I would consider an 'Exclusive system seller', am sure they are great fun but in the grand scheme of things they won't be games people reflect on at the end of the consoles life.

I'm sure people said the same about Pilotwings, Sim City, Actraiser, Super Castlevania 4, and other early SNES offerings.

It doesn't make you look like a troll, just extremely ignorant. Splatoon is massive in Japan and responsible for singlehandedly selling the Switch there, it's also done very well in other regions, topping the charts in the US for example.

ARMS has also been reported to have sold over a million, not bad for a brand new franchise on a new console out less than 6 months with an install base under 5 million.

By all means say that they're not for you, but don't make out they're not selling when they clearly, demonstrably are.

Also, stating that Zelda isn't a system seller when it's sales were literally 1:1 for a good while with every Switch console sold again just speaks to your ignorance. It's the very definition of a system seller.

Mate, the fun I've had with splatoon 2 will probably be amongst my final dying thoughts, let alone merely at the time Switch gets superseded.

Yeah, you could get inferior versions of MK8 and Zelda on the Wii U so I guess you should get one of those and head over to that thread to ask people if you should buy one.

Crazy talk, this has been the best generation ever and maybe the best year for games. It's completely insane atm.

See, that what everyone on here thinks. Nobody else does that I know

Of course, now that the switch and BOTW have come along, I am reconsidering

I think this gen has seen the two (three) greatest games ever made, being Titanfall (1&2) and Zelda BotW.

And probably Splatoon 2 actually. So that's 4.

That's interesting, I was under the impression that Splatoon was aimed more towards a Western audience as it's essentially a shoot em up. The character designs also feel like they are aimed at the Western audience too. I'd like to try Splatoon at some point, not likely to play online but I hear the single player in the sequel is good.

The Switch is everything I hoped for and more. I haven't owned a Nintendo home console since my SNES. I had a DS when they first came out. Since then it was PC gaming, Playstations and Xboxes.

I haven't even bought BotW yet, but ARMS, MK8 and Splatoon 2 are 3 of my favourite games ever.

They all have niggles but my god they are so much fun. All family friendly  so I can play games with and in front of my kids, can switch back and forth to handheld mode whenever I want, and out of the box I can split the joycons and play local multiplayer.

I'm not here  to tell people they're wrong if they don't like it or the games ,but for me it's awesome

I'm not sure Splatoon could be any more Japanese if it tried.

Just a point i spotted a few posts back, Stanley saying that the charging grip is a waste of time.

Yes it is overpriced, and should be packed in th box already... but do you know what? i love it!

i will NEVER have to attach the joycons to the screen again. This is very good.  And using them as a pad is great.

Separate Joy Cons is the best way to play.   It feels so natural,  the controllers seem to almost disappear.  I never use the grip or pro-controller.   Although my daughter likes them.

How many western shooters are based on this "Nickelodeon" style then? Palm trees are evidence, sound like you are stirring a bit.

Splatoon is huge in Japan. I haven't bought the sequel yet as I don't care that much for multiplayer games, but my son wants it for Christmas so may play it then.

Anyways, Switch is great. Mario and Rabbids is great, buy it people.

Splatoon wasn't really my thing either, so I traded it for Puyo Puyo

Mario and Rabbids will be started on Thursday when I am finally allowed to open it.

Hoping that Golf Story is sub £20 so that can be grabbed when it is released too

Other than EG on the PS4, the switch is all I am playing on at the moment

Right now the Switch is a console people 'love to love' and, even though I do not agree with Clippa on some of his points, this thread is basically one giant echo chamber of "the Switch is the best thing ever and I haven't touched my PS4/XB1/wife in months! Why aren't you buying one?!?!".

No harm in taking a step back every once and a while. I love the Switch but let's not pretend it's not without (many) faults.

Is it? Like I said, those "faults" simply don't apply to me as I didnt buy the switch for online gaming

I assure you, the first Splatoon could not have been more Japanese. I still have recurring nightmares about the many months spent as the only westerner in every lobby.
