@Jimmyzilla - How are you finding the Melopw M001 "dock"? I was thinking of getting one myself for the office.

I haven't used it much to be honest, it was cheap enough just to try out!  I haven't had much of a chance to play my switch over the past week.

Sounds good.  Did you also pick up another charger, or do you plan to just use the Nintendo one?

I presume it's doing full res, output?  Any other issues compared to the normal dock?  I'd love a 2nd dock for my games room as unplugging is a pita and the Switch lives in the living room, but with the official charger costing 25 quid, it's still at the price point where I'd rather just buy another game ;)

I was thinking about getting another charger but I haven't yet, I figured it's easiest to get the official one to make sure it can do the best voltage/current but haven't really shopped around at all.  I have some argos vouchers so I'm not too bother about the cost though.

I've been having a look and from what I gather looking online, and at the specs, this will do it:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/AUKEY-Charger-Power-Delivery-Oneplus/dp/B01MYVJELP/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1503647667&sr=8-7&keywords=wall+usb-c+dual

so long as you use a USB-C to USB-C cable with it (not supplied), and obviously you can't then use the 2x adaptor - USB-A to C won't do it - though it should charge it overnight as I already use a 2.4amp syncwire charger with mine in portable mode and it's enough to almost maintain when playing portable, and charge when in sleep mode.

I like the flexibility of having a charger that can be used for phones too, especially if away from home, and the detachable cable for packing it, plus it looks pretty dinky.

Aukey themselves recommend it:

https://www.aukey.com/3-essential-nintendo-switch-accessories-52425

though I've found no mention of anyone else using one..

/disclaimer - I might sound like an advert, but I'm just a keyboard warrior who has read too much about Switch power adaptors and docks recently! No affiliation to aukey / amazon etc.

Tesco do them.

But just buy from CD Keys.

I wish Amazon did them, have a pile of Amazon credit!

Just splurged a little bit on the Switch as far as accessories go, needed some love after basically living on nothing but Mania over the past week gaming-wise. The Hori game case, a glass screen protector, 64gig microSD and the Hori PlayStand. (which'll no doubt making Voez a lot more awesome - incidently it got even more music for free this week!)

I figure 64gig's will do me fine for at least the next year or two, considering I buy physical when I can, and a fair few downloadable games are still reasonable size (most of the Neo Geo stuff being under a hundred megabytes). Plus sd cards can always be re-purposed when it's time to upgrade (to a larger one) anyway.

Did I understand correctly that while games can be the SD, the saves themselves stay on Switch? Is it safe to delete Mania, then re-DL on the card, and the same save will work/remember?

What about the Zelda DLC? Physical cart, can it live on the SD?

Just need a slightly better console case than the official one in future. it's a bit too soft and the pouch isn't even big enough to comfortably fit the joycon grips, but I still love the fact it can be used as a stand.

Edit: Slightly unrelated, but also a bluetooth usb adapter so I can get my Pro Controller working on PC. Hell if I'm going to play Mania with the 360's D-Pad. Endured that thing enough over the years.

An answer on the US listing says it can't.

"No. I think the commenter here didn't fully read the question. Their description states that the cable will charge the switch. But that's when it's plugged into the usb-c on the dock not to POWER the dock for dock play. This does NOT work. Only the official cable from nintendo can power the dock for dock usage."

Here's a big discussion on reddit about chargers

Bought a voucher/card last week for Sonic Mania. Went into Game, they claimed not to have the £15 vouchers. Sainsbury's across the road had plenty though. Should've gone there first, really, had I known.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but I'm just curious as to why you'd want to do this anyway? Does it affect something if Sonic is on the console storage or the SD card?

Genuinely not trying to be a troll post.

Just convinience. Theoretically the OS might run faster down the line if it's not filled with stuff, also. Plus you never know how many more gigs Nintendo is going to use for both OS and game updates.

Sainsburys, Next, Argos, Asda, Tesco, Boots, Toys R Us, Debenhams, Clintons and Primark all sell them too.

Or get them online from Electronic First, CD Keys, or PayPal. Or Shopto, I think.

Or any number of eBay sellers.

And this is a bit out of date now, but according to Nintendo:

https://cdn02.nintendo-europe.com/media/downloads/support_1/nintendo_3ds_14/Nintendo_eShop_Cards_10Nov2014.pdf

So that's Grainger and Wilkinsons and Road Cheff and Welcome Break then too.

And The Works ,if they still exist?

Oh! They also sell them in some petrol stations. I've seen them in a local Co-op one, and a local Esso too.

And my local One Stop used to but they stopped doing all gift cards a few years back. Don't know if that's just that branch though.

One stop in Costessey don’t sell them FYI
