Sorry for completely derailing the thread [emoji23] I'm heading to family in Perth for a few weeks and moving to where there is work (WHV while I'm young enough) lol after the 2 years will see what happens.

Can't wait to see more Mario odyssey footage this week from gamescom but also don't want to spoil too much of the game for myself either.

Once the demo for pokken tournament releases I'll be glued to that!

I've seen demos on the uk and Japan eshops (blaster master, just dance, Rayman, snipperclips (another rpg type demo I didn't try) and monster hunter). Am I missing any demos on other eshops?

Balmain, Sydney.

I lived in Balmain for four years (Kirribilli before that). Will likely end up back at Balmain this time.

Anyway, sorry to derail. Back to Switch...

I've been looking at the various power/battery cases that are in development. I'm thinking of getting one. Anyone seen anything that looks particularly good?

The boy downloaded Retro City at the weekend for £12.99, that seems like good value to me and he's enjoying it quite a lot. I'm sure he'll get a good deal out of that £12. I asked what his favourite game on the system was the other day, and he said it just depends where he is. If he's got an internet connection it's Splatoon 2, failing that Zelda followed by Arms.

I saw Skyrim running on the Switch earlier.

It looks like Skyrim. I wanted to see the area where there are hot springs as that's my favourite part of the whole map. I doubt I'll buy it as I played it to death on the 360.

I'll be all over that. I don't get on with 'big console' RPGs so only managed about 10 hours with Skyrim. It'll be perfectly suited to the Switch.

Does PayPal being a payment option on switch make it easier to buy from foreign stores now?

Yea couldn't be simpler, log onto your foreign Nintendo account on the console and try to buy a game with PayPal. It'll send a link to your email, follow it and after entering your details it's good to go. I grabbed a game off the Russian store earlier this way

Is Skyrim better than the one before it? Because that one bored the arse off me.

It's very different to Oblivion in many ways. It looks lovely in parts and the combat is great and it isn't is empty. You get to fight huge dragons too. It's quite difficult at the start - Zelda BOTW borrows from it a fair amount in terms of the map. The usual silly AI is there though as you can wander into a shop and put a bucket on someone's head and they carry on talking to you. If you've not played it, there's a lot of game time to sink into it. The main quest is OK but the side quests are better.

I played skyrim on every platform pretty much and still getting it on switch, the thought of playing skyrim anywhere is amazing and no matter how many times you play it always something new to do.

I'm also going to get it, however the idea of playing it anywhere for about 1 hour is more realistic. ;)

Really?!

Well yeah. It's big, varied environments and you can pretty much go anywhere straight away - BOTW is more accessible as if you have the stamina, you literally can go anywhere and stand on every inch of it but Skyrim did this too. I 100% prefer the animals and the enemies in Skyrim as I've always found the Zelda enemies (other than the bosses) pretty rubbish (I count the Hinox and Lynel species as bosses).

Zelda BOTW is the better game (my opinion) but Skyrim's bloody fantastic and if you didn't ever play it, you are in for a massive treat. I didn't enjoy the main quest that much to be honest and near the end, I was so overpowered and some of it made no sense at all but it has some side quests that would be a full game in any other RPG - I don't want to spoil it but I'll just say Werewolf. It was incredibly buggy when it came out on the 360 - Wooly Mammoths fell out of the air quite often, companions would disappear and you couldn't finish quests but when it was patched a few times, it was a solid game.

It looks like it's the special edition with some added mods (that come via Amiibos - obviously)
