Splatoon 2 single player reminds me of Mario Galaxy at times.

Yep - especially flying between the sections. I thought of exactly that myself last night. Not just that though, the layout and design of the world - isn't it meant to be deep underground? That's why the walls are plastered with LCD screens to simulate outdoor sky and horizon. Wonderfully done.

Superbeat Xonic is coming to Switch!

The team at PM Studios has perfectly ported the acclaimed music rhythm game over and optimized the controls and touch features for an even smoother gaming experience on the home console. Players will be able to listen to over 50 music tracks and boogie through 200 different play Street Date patterns.

If you have any sort of fondness for the classic abstract bemani games with floods of notes and daft J-pop, this will come as good news. It was my #2 game in Wiper's 2015 GOTY poll (behind Bloodborne) and it was a joy to play on the Vita. It works with buttons or touchscreen but is way more suited to the latter, and the interface has notes coming from the centre to the edges so you never run into the problem of your hands covering incoming notes. Also the notes vary between taps, holds, flicks and tracing lines, and there's tons to unlock. The music might not be to everyone's tastes and there's not that much familiar material on there, but it covers all kinds of genres.

It had already seen a PS4/Xbox release after the Vita version, so it's great that it's becoming available on more platforms

Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder 2

An okay line-up, but a bit of a piss-take when you think of the amount of games they have available and put out before. Game have got it listed for £59.99

For that price I can only assume Game have a special edition that also has Soulcalibur 2, Tales of Symphonia and the latest Tekken included in the collection.

This might seem like a stupid question, but is there anyway to run the switch through the tv without using the dock?

The whole dock thing seems really badly designed, having to slot something with a screen into it- every time I put it in there, the screen gets marked in two places near the bottom (which eventually buff out) by something inside, and I'm really worried about scratching it.

Bought a set of portholic glass screen protectors on eBay, the first had a chipped corner, second had a big scratch on it, so waiting for more to be sent and a bit worried about putting the switch in the dock in the meantime.

You can get a third party mini dock which is more like a dongle, not sure of their stability but Digital Foundry reviewed one and said it was OK. I'm fine with the dock. At least when you get the screen protector you won't worry as much.

Will mask a faulty dock you mean - i have loads of stuff I bought to line the dock but mine isn't bent so doesn't scratch it al all regardless of how uncarefully docked it is!

Mine isn't getting scratched (yet anyway), just two rather persistent smudge marks near the bottom right and left corners every time I bring it out of the dock.

It just seems like a pretty big design flaw, having to slide something with a scratchable screen into a dock every time you want to use it on a big screen (one of the selling points).

Yes. Hard to believe someone has a Switch without Zelda.

(Puts hand up)

Yeah, I should have just bought a Switch for Zelda, and not Splatoon! 2. On the other hand, Amazon mispricing meant I got Zelda for 30 quid, so I consider myself up on the deal.

...and Rocket League.

I cannot wait.  :D

Tonight was the first night I used the joycons in the grip (my pro controller ran out of battery when playing Splatoon).

Anyway, I noticed the grip has a little hole on the back, seemingly designed to hook onto something. What's that all about?

Overcooked Special Edition is out now on the eShop.  £17.99.

I'm getting it. Bomberman R has been a staple multiplayer game at work lunch breaks with a friend, with many laughs. Overcooked looks like a perfect distraction with its frantic five-minute games.

I saw this on amazon which looks interesting. I assume it's easy to take the board out of the dock to put in this one. I haven't seen any reviews for it though
