Mine arrived, & after fawning over it's looks for while, I've now embarked on the most magical part of the whole experience...

System Updates!

But, the fact that's it portable meant i could take it somewhere where the Internet was slightly better, & can fawn over that lovely screen while it does it! ^_^

I had my first go at Zelda, It looks amazing to me. I have not played a game like this since Oblivion.

I am considering to wait for a couple of weeks until I have my 1080p monitor back to play it.

And maybe get something like I am setsuna to keep me busy.

Should I wait?

Which of the neo geo games are the best?

KoF'98 and Metal Slug 3. Two of the best games on the system (both NeoGeo AND Switch :)).

Also, the Switch dock smells like an AES cart. That brought back some happy unboxing memories.

This has definitely been one of the best day one setups so far, the initial update took mere minutes and everything else was set up and ready to go.

From powering on first time to playing zelda took around 10 minutes or so, very impressed.

I might have a soak in the bath tonight, chuck in some Radox and play this with the lights dimmed.

Well, 1-2 Switch is just as throwaway rubbish but fun as I thought it would be! A definite pack-in game. The real RRP of the Switch is £315.

Yep, I've also got it, only played it single player with both joycon to myself to see how it is, it's not compelling in the slightest when I have Zelda sitting here to be played, but should be a laugh for an hour or so's worth of streaming tonight :P

I'm hit hard by this left Joycon issue.

We sit not even 4m away from the TV, yet I'm experiencing cutouts whilst in plain sight of the Switch. I'm rotating my dude on Snipperclips and the connection will cut out, meaning he's locked in rotation which screws up our effort. Dog walks past - guaranteed cut out. Joycon by my side - guaranteed cut out. There's got to be a fix coming.

Strangely enough I can stand in the opposite corner of the room (8m+ away) with the controller totally obscured by my body, yet it works flawlessly under a 'forced' condition like that...

When I first took mine out of the box, I couldn't get more than about 2m away before the left joycon disconnected. I was bricking it.

But, I went into the controller settings and reset everything in terms of the controller connections - power cycling the console with the joy cons attached right after. Since then, solid as a rock....#touchwood

Putting it into the dock isn't quite as 'solid' and 'certain' as I hoped - there is no 'ciick' or anything - feels a bit loose to me...unless I should be pushing harder?

Played a bit of Zelda, was just cocking around in it and messing with the physics, but it looks and sounds amazing so far. Can't wait to start the story proper. Sorted out my User information and downloaded Fast RMX just to have something to have a quick 10 minute blast on every so often. Currently left my Switch and Pro Controller charging.

It's a glorious bit of kit. Actually looks quality, definitely the nicest looking console out there.

My user ID is SW-7937-8039-1685 if anyone wants to get beaten at MK8 and Splatoon later in the year.

Thanks. I will give those a go. Maybe that scrolling beat em up as well.

Tried all that... and now... My 'Y' button has died.... I'm getting one successful register out of every ten presses, roughly. FFS. Not even started Zelda yet.

Because DPD man is still 2 hours away and I have nothing better to do, I've made a quick list of all friend codes posted in this thread from midnight last nigh onwards to save searching for them all. Quote and add yours and I'll try and tidy up the list at some point, probably tomorrow as I'm off out tonight so tomorrow will be my switchmas day. Apologies if I've missed anyone.

Wow how good is the pro controller? D-pad feels satisfyingly click, shoulder triggers are about twice the size of the joycon ones and overall it just feels incredibly comfy. Well chuffed I managed to get one for £35 from very.co.uk.
