Right, not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but the console CAN be turned on with the right Joy-con with the HOME menu button.

Sounds daft I know, but saw people speculating and saying you couldn't, but I just stuck it in sleep mode and it said on the screen you just need to press Home :)

Can anyone confirm that there is a sort of cutout in the black bezel underneath the plastic at the bottom of the screen left of centre? Sort of looks like a space for some sort of sensor, but i just want to check that it should be there rather than an assembly / adhesive type issue.

You can wake it up.

You cannot turn it on.

Does anyone know if the games are region free?  My brother is currently in the USA, wondering if anything may be cheaper out there...

I have it too.  I thought it was a bubble on my screen protector, which I otherwise got on flawlessly.  I think it might be a camera?

They are indeed. You can even buy stuff from the US and JP eShops on the device.

Are any of the games on the eshop worth buying? Apart from 1-2 switch and Zelda. Presumably bomberman is physical also?

Ive bought Shovel knight which is supposedly quite good.  So far it's alright but I've only put in 30mins into it.

I've honestly just done away with the dock as I just have no interest in playing on a big screen even when the tv is available.  I'll just charge the console directly with the AC plug and I'm happy.

I've bought Snipperclips, looks great and hopefully my wife will want to join in. Quid cheaper to get a code off Amazon

I'm hit hard by this left Joycon issue.

We sit not even 4m away from the TV, yet I'm experiencing cutouts whilst in plain sight of the Switch. I'm rotating my dude on Snipperclips and the connection will cut out, meaning he's locked in rotation which screws up our effort. Dog walks past - guaranteed cut out. Joycon by my side - guaranteed cut out. There's got to be a fix coming.

Strangely enough I can stand in the opposite corner of the room (8m+ away) with the controller totally obscured by my body, yet it works flawlessly under a 'forced' condition like that...
