It's USB-C this time around, so probably a new cable unless you have a new Android phone from the last couple of years.

Good to hear. Pretty shocked that whatever journalist reported not being able to turn it on didn't think to try that. The coverage of the Switch has been pretty shocking, generally.

So I just reserved one at Argos along with Zelda. 

 

I think I can hold off on a memory card for now. Can't decide if I need...

 

Carry case (Is the official one decent?)

Nintendo Charger (Are there cheaper 3rd party options?)
Pro Controller (AGHHHHH!)

Joycon bumper things (Are they really needed?)

It's a truly beautiful machine. Now to go and dig out an Amiibo so I can transfer my Mii over. Which means learning how to do this, and probably setting the Wii U I already dismantled to do this. LAUNCH DAY JOY!

 

No games yet, so I'm almost certainly going to end up buying something while waiting for Zelda to arrive. Anybody played that motorbike girl game?

Got my Switch with funky neon colours. Now I have to... well, work (sigh) and wait for Zelda to arrive by mail. At least it shipped. Hopefully thet didn't accidently post the Wii U version.

In other news, I think Sumo Digital's Snake Pass looks rather lovely (also coming to other systems, but it feels right at home on a Nintendo system).

I get the impression the main controller options is good. The pro controller is a nice extra. I don't think it is a must by any means.

Sometimes people are in such a rush to find something wrong, they just throw common sense out of the window in the rush to be the first to report an issue.

 

According to the DPD app, my driver just came within about 500 yds of my house, but was on delivery #8 - I'm #52, so he's now headed off in the opposite direction :(

How do I add funds to my eShop account?  Trying to do it from the web but it seems I might have to do it on the machine itself?  Can I just link it to my paypal account?

There's a power button on the top of the tablet.

It's absolutely fine! I love it in fact. Won't be splashing out on a pro for a Long time.

That's a shame. Let's hope for a fix one day.

Unless you have giant hands no need. I'm loving this controller. Didn't realise its gyro also. Controlling the bow on zelda just got 10x better.


Is the eshop up for people? It's down for me in singapore and my Friend in Hong Kong
