Is there an optical port on the dock?  I may connect this to my monitor but I have no speakers and usually use my Turtle beach surround sound headphones.

Monitor is not at a desk and in front of my comfy couch btw.

I filled up my list on WiiU of friends without entering a SINGLE friend code.

Bet that was harder and took longer than completing zelda

So what's the deal with Shovel Knight. Sure I'd heard rumours that if you'd bought it on Wii U it'd be transferable in some way?

Just a £39.99 transfer fee to pay

Twas the night before Switchmas, I tidied the house

To make room for a new console, not for the spouse

The Playstation and Blu-ray player moved aside with due care

In hope that tomorrow a Switch would be sat there

I actually received an email from a contact at Nintendo today titled "Happy Switch Eve!"

Eurogamer say it hasn't.

There is debate how you get the update to trigger the joy cons, one dude has put a video up showing they work behind his back now and previously had a video showing the issue as reported.

I do, forgot all about it, first a comparison pic...

I always found the Wii U pro pad to be comfy the Switch one just feels much more moulded to your hands, they have clearly focussed on the ergonomics in a big way and just holding both one after the other you can tell it's been a priority. The face buttons feel largely similar.

The biggest difference is the shoulder buttons they feel night and day better. The Switch controller is also heavier and for me is a positive. I much prefer the button layout, I never was a fan of the analogue stick above the face buttons.

I'm going to ( pointlessly perhaps ) try to sync my Wii U pro Pad to the Switch tomorrow, seeing as they both hook up to a PC through Blutooth, it's at least worth a try :P

I cant believe all these asshat you tubers who have gone on about being able to use eshop region free have not done the most basic and important test..

There is a puyo tertris demo on the JP store and gamexplain have at least started to download it but can you play it in your native account and does it make it english language!?

Is there a points of view for youtube that i can complain to?

Also, CDkeys have switch digital games now, cheaper than anywhere and 5% Facebook discount

Friend Codes is only an option - it's not the only way to become friends. In the gameexplain vid posted in the other this thread, he had a friend on his Switch already but no idea on Friend Codes - so they obviously hadn't exchanged the number to make that happen.

Hopefully there is a search just like on Wii U....can't see one though.....they cocked up if so

It was going so well...

It's the only way to add friends who you haven't played Miitomo or Mario run with.

So much for the "you never saw friend codes on the Wii U" theory.

Nintendo have already said the update to add via NNID, social media etc is coming soon after launch Victor.

It never crossed my mind that Nintendo would release a console in 2017 that you couldn't turn on with the controllers.

This can't be true surely?

I'm not sure if it's true, the only place I've seen it is in this guy's video I stumbled upon (skip to 4:00):

Maybe you have to hold the button down or something and he's not doing that? I can't imagine this would be the case but then again I can't believe we're still using friend codes.

Also Neon has really grown on me. Grey looks incredibly boring now, though I'd like to see both in person before making a decision.
