The day one patch hasn't fixed the ds-sync issue:

Quote

The Nintendo Switch's day one system update has launched, and there are reports online that installing the patch with the Joy-Cons attached updates the firmware on the controllers, resolving the de-sync issues. Is this really the case? Unfortunately not. We've updated our console with controllers attached and re-run the battery of tests detailed below. In all cases, the range and consistency of the connection of each Joy-Con remains the same, and the left controller still has demonstrably weaker range than the right. Eurogamer has contacted Nintendo several times now concerning this issue, and we still await a reply.

After today's Nintendo Switch day one update, SD card support and online features have both become enabled on the new console, but game saves can only be stored on the console's 32GB internal storage, with no apparent option to transfer them.

This has definitely launched unfinished.

Ha, it's maybe the shit exposure, it's just a standard Xbox One Elite pad, I took one with the flash on too, got lighting issues...

This comparison actually does a good job of showing something people may not have considered regarding the Pro Controller. Notice how on all three pads the right stick is not directly underneath the face buttons but is down and to the left? There's a reason all the pads do this and it's because it's more comfortable for your thumb to keep switching from the stick to the buttons this way.

Now look where the stick is on the joycons:

It's literally directly below the face buttons. It's something you accept on a handheld because of the limited space, but when you put it in a controller grip I think it becomes more noticeable in comparison to the other pads we all use. It's still perfectly workable of course, but it's not quite as comfortable and is another thing to consider if you're weighing up the Pro Controller.

For all you Dutchies out there who haven't yet ordered the Pro controller (like me): supposedly MediaMarkt have them in stock online tomorrow for 'only' €59,00. I will be snapping one up myself if that's the case! :)

That's 10 cheaper than Game Mania, who my pre-order is with. Hmm.

I was going to return my 2nd copy of Zelda to MediaMarkt for one of these... I don't know if I'll be able to do that at the counter, likely I'll get the store credit back which I'll then have to use online. :/  Unless I can order online in the shop and then ask to pick it up there and then.

So this multi region account ability...

I have made a couple of new accounts for Japan and USA - do you connect them all to one NNID (thats currently linked to my UK account) or do they need a unique NNID each?

I assume as yet no one has tried to buy anything on a JP/USA account so I wonder if we can use a UK credit card etc r if we need to start chasing down JP/US credit!?

Yeah the whole front where the buttons are and the back are both translucent. The two grips are not and the top where it charges is not.

Ah, ok. First time I'd noticed that. I think I would have preferred it to be opaque.

How does it compare with the other two controllers? Seems very close to the Xbox pad in ergonomics.

It feels really comfy, it doesn't feel like either of the two in the hand, definitely has its own feel.

The analogue sticks feel like the dual shock sticks in terms of travel distance and resistance which is fantastic as I hate the XB1 sticks as for me they feel slack/loose and I struggle to play fps games with them.

The shoulder buttons feel amazing compared to any other nintendo controller i've used, they feel similar again to the dual shock 4 in terms of  travel distance and mechanics but are obviously shaped more like the XB1 buttons.

The triggers while they are clearly not analogue feel pretty good, have a nice distinct shape and feel so you know it's a trigger just a real shame it's digital.

The d-pad feels exactly like the Wii U gamepad one.

Do you have a Wii U pro pad, if so how does it compare?

Sounds good. I might pick one up tomorrow now.

I do, forgot all about it, first a comparison pic...

I always found the Wii U pro pad to be comfy the Switch one just feels much more moulded to your hands, they have clearly focussed on the ergonomics in a big way and just holding both one after the other you can tell it's been a priority. The face buttons feel largely similar.

The biggest difference is the shoulder buttons they feel night and day better. The Switch controller is also heavier and for me is a positive. I much prefer the button layout, I never was a fan of the analogue stick above the face buttons.

I own the Wii U pro pad and have been using it loads of late, in my head it was the same layout as the Switch pro pad until I saw your pic  I can see why the Switch one will be better, much better stick and button placement - hype +1

Is getting a 4k monitor a good idea to play mostly Switch and PC 1080p games? I don't plan to go over 1080 in at least a year.

Since I broke up with my gf I'm living in a cell size room. With just my laptop and my switch.  It sounds bad but don't feel pity for me lol. (And I won't get joycon range problems)
