I think it looks awful there also, but going by the "in the flesh" reports, I'm more than happy with my neon decision. (And you can't judge a screen on a photo of said screen.)

I saw both in the flesh, to my (colour blind!) eyes the neon looked lovely. The joy cons detected especially look good, using the grey was less fun. Seeing the neon next to the grey made my mind up and I cancelled my grey preorder.

I can see how it'd be good to get a set of the grey ones, could be useful for more formal occasions! [emoji23]

I've just upgraded to the £15.99/mth 2 games Priority service, before that I had the £10.99 one. I've had it active for a few months now and I've played a good deal of new games on launch day - Resident Evil 7, Deus Ex, Mafia 3 and The Last Guardian, for example. Saved me a bunch of cash.

@Paulando I have been with them over a year and i'm on just the unlimited service. Don't know the price difference but I always get the brand new games so it might not be worth the price difference ^_^ They have just sent out Horizon Zero Dawn today for me :)

Surely one of the reviews would have said consumer ones wouldn't be affected?

I went in this morning to pre-pay for my pre-order in GAME. It took 15 minutes to sort everything out so I'm glad I did that as I expect the queues are going to awful on Friday. They scanned my console serial number... it was there in front of me, 9:10am so the shop was empty and then, the only guy serving (who was serving me) went out the back to get a carrier bag to put it in so there I was, stood with my console that I'd paid for right in front of me. What a bastard. I could've picked it up and walked out - I'd just paid for it.

 

I'm half day on Friday so I'll be heading home with my new console by about 12:30pm on Friday.

 

WOOOOOOOOOT!

Well, based on what they wrote, and obviously I'm paraphrasing here, it's an average console, an average handheld, because of the compromises made to make it a hybrid, so it gets an average score...but again, that may change when the day 1 stuff comes out.

Review scores for games are already a bit arbitrary but a 100-point scale for reviewing actual consoles is some of the stupidest nonsense I've seen in the already incredibly dumb world of videogame journalism.

I reviewed the PS4 on launch and gave it a 6.3.

 

Obv this is an ongoing process and while I am currently thinking of a 9 there is the automatic deduction of 1 mark for each controller issue so unfortunately for Sony 3 years on the PS4 review score is 3.3.

Wasn't that intentional in order to signify and emphasise melee impact? Tons of games do that.
