You would think that Sony and Microsoft have never launched a console that had missing features. Then we had the PS4 controller issues where people were swapping out sticks and replacing grips on the sticks, Microsoft knowingly launched a console that was prone to overheating but those companies are all reaching for the future while Nintendo lives in the past

Go on, quote me where I've said he's lying or making anything up...because I've not.

I'm not going to be the one that needs to backpedal....

You're saying that he is misrepresenting his opinion in order to "stir something up," is "looking for an angle" and that he is somehow trying to get his "content" (a tweet. He hasn't reviewed the device for Kotaku.) noticed by doing this.

i.e. that he is misrepresenting his opinion in order to generate clicks and if he were instead, honestly representing his opinions that wouldn't be an interesting enough "angle."

You also keep saying that this is somehow part of his job and that rather than trying to write a genuinely interesting or informative piece, the way to succeed in writing is just to "stir something up."

I'm not saying he needs the day 1 patch to do his job - I'm just saying he's clearly looking for an angle (it's his job to do so, that's not meant as an insult), and he's coming up with "No Day 1 VC" and "No Activity Log" - it's hardly catastrophe, and hardly (IMO) worthy of the somewhat inflammatory label 'undercooked'. Some might think it is I guess, I don't. Opinions.

The joy con sync issue is much, much more of a worry - though it appears to be pretty patchy as plenty of folks are also reporting they've not seen it at all on their units. This is the first time it's really come out as news, and yet hundreds of people have had access to them all over the world in recent months. Let's cross our fingers - as surely we don't want it to be a big issue - that would be of benefit to absolutely nobody.

He's clearly trying to stir something up - he's calling it undercooked even before he's been able to see half the features because the Day 1 update isn't available yet.

I'm not doubting he's doing his job, but don't deny his job does involve getting his content noticed somehow...

And that's 16x the size of the one in the Switch.

I get everyone is excited at new hardware and wants Nintendo to succeed, but they're a company, not your friend. Switch hardware previews seem largely positive but with some teething problems. There is much which is assumed, about which Nintendo is noncommittal. I think journalists have a right to voice concerns over the latter, one week from launch.

My BF4 install is 73gb, isn't Zelda 13gb?

500gb in the PS4 was penny pinching in the same way 32gb in the switch is!

The PS4 has a HDD, how portable or small can a system be if has a HDD in it?

Do people really want Nintendo to charge for more solid state memory like Apple and co do? They have made the best possible solution in having enough memory for the essential things and allowing users who want extra space to use microSD cards while not requiring installs like the other consoles do, at least they didn't do the same thing as fucking Sony did with the Vita and charge you an arm and a leg for a proprietary card.

Those examples aren't launching an incomplete console though, they're launching consoles with bad build quality. You've just glossed over probably the single biggest thing that distinguishes Nintendo from every console manufacturer it has ever competed with. You might not have a DVD player in your Wii but you could probably use it in a nuclear reactor.

I'm genuinely interested to see what the justifications will be for Nintendo's decision-making if the Switch underperforms.

Is it just consumers who are wrong, like they were about the Wii U?

I don't remember them blaming consumers. I recall them stating that they didn't realise how quickly tablets would improve and it didn't take theirs to look poop.

There is certainly a market for the switch, but how big we don't know yet.

Do we know if Snakepass has a variety of environments or is it just that jungle one?

Got to be a plane level.

If it is £16.99 then I would pick it up on the Switch - not the sort of game I would buy on PS4/Xbone and I'm aware that sounds odd, it took the Vita to open up my narrow mind on indie games

It's not going to underperform so I'd stop worrying about that if I were you.
