Many people getting the pro controller? I think I'm going to so it feels more like a home console when I'm playing at home. I want to dock the switch and not have to faff with taking the joycons off.

I have one pre ordered, will be good on Zelda etc but also an extra pad for Mario Kart and Splatoon 2 - I am sure the joy con on dog grip will be good but I still expect the Pro to be better.

I'll have to admit.... I'll probably use the portable option once to take to work to test then never take it out of the dock again. I don't have the chance to game on the go.... unless someone wants to drive me to work  Not everyone needs a portable element for me it's all home gaming and stuff you banana's who think that's wrong.

Not sure if this has been posted:

Not that I have any intention of going all digital, but this would seem to be a good choice to serve as the Switch's 'Hard Drive':

https://www.amazon.co.uk/SanDisk-Ultra-MicroSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B013UDL5HU

Sandisk is a good make, & 128GB would be enough to hold all the games in that video & with just under half the card space still to spare.  Like i said though, I don't intend to go all digital, so that amount of space would seem to be perfect for a couple of full Switch games, eshop & Virtual Console titles, & still with plenty of room left over for the future.

Faffing around with the joycons is the core appeal of the system, if you don't want to do that then you may as well go buy a Playbox 461 dudebro.

Core appeal of the system for me is switching between handheld and console. The joycons detaching is just a bonus for the few people remaining in the world who still do local coop.

My only personal use cases are likely to be:

1. Hand-held mode, sat on the couch/bed/throne playing full-fat Zelda?Mario etc. earphones in, while the missus watches some old shite on the telly.

2. I get the telly wahey! So switch is in its dock, I'm lounging back on the couch, a joy-con held lazily in each hand - arms relaxed, no need to hold a gamepad.

Going from 1 to 2 and back again is THE big draw for me. So, I'll be hearing that sweet, sweet 'Switch-click' quite a bit.

I'm still unsure how to play it with work. I might have the day off, but just as unpaid leave. I will have the switch just after midnight from Smyths and then I can either play it all bloody night and suffer severely at work that Friday or take the day off and get loads of grief off my wife.

I've taken the Friday and the following week off... But that was all planned in before Nintendo's announcement of the launch date, and is in service of friends coming to stay, meaning I'm unlikely to get much playtime until later the following week.

Worse, my dad's threatening to visit on the Thursday or Friday; if I miss the Switch arriving because he decides to spend the afternoon with me in a pub I will be unimpressed.

Get 1-2 Switch and let the fun over take you all!

pretty much everything besides mmorpgs and real time strategy lol

Well, yeah obviously... but i think there are games out there that would suit the pick up and play aspect or the possibility of a bit of "LAN" gaming with friends.

Speak for yourself, you could do a brilliant RTS on a touch screen with physical controls alongside it; with the sticks for camera control you'd be free to use touch controls for drag-selecting and giving orders, with traditional RTS build pool menus and the like all perfect for that control system too. Add some shortcuts to the left joycon face buttons (and duplicate to the right for lefthanders) and you'd have a really nice system for portable RTS play, far less cumbersome than a laptop with (utterly necessary) mouse alongside it.

Of course, it'll never happen because studios will assume there's no market for that genre on the Switch, but it could work really well!

I haven't played it personally but overcooked on steam would be an ideal fit at first glance :D

Plants vs zombies games....

Broforce?

Worms games

Borderlands

Trackmania

I suspect these are games that have been considered already ^_^

The next star wars battlefront games?

This is also me.  I'm privileged enough to have an actual games room, with another TV, and I feel guilty spending too much time in there, so the Switch will allow me to play Zelda in the living room whilst she watches The West Wing for the 50th time.

What games do you think would work really well on the Switch, being portable and all?

I still think Rocket league would be fantastic on it. Is there any other 3rd party games that would go down well?

Hmm. I thought Rocket League would be good too, until last night, when I thought I'd have a quick 20 minutes before bed, then my ps4 decided it needed to download an update file.  A 4GB update file.  Rocket League isn't exactly full of content, 4GB surly must be the whole damn game in 1 package...!? :S

I've been playing quite a lot of Android versions of popular board games, Carcassone, Ticket to Ride, Settlers Of Catan etc..  I'd like to see something of that ilk with added Nintendo magic - no, not Mario Party!

Something utilising the ability to use the portable as a tabletop device (as in top down, not on the stand).  Micro Machines...

And Advance Wars, always Advance Wars!

Funny, I thought the core appeal was to play Nintendo games?
