Fuck me.

I feel like I'm the bad guy here.

Sorry guys but 1-2 Switch is fucking shit. Milking cows? Really? Mario is setting off alarm bells right now, reminds me of Sunshine for some reason. It looks shit too. But I trust Tokyo EAD. They're the only Nintendo team that seem to know how to finish a game.

With the line up they have, they'll have a strong start and then crash and burn.

The real test will be Pokemon. I've pencilled in an xmas purchase so I've not given up completely.

Prove me wrong Nintendo. Release some fucking new games.

I had doubts a few weeks ago, but I got a grip(non-charging) and kept the preorders(s).

1. I'll definitely want one for Splatoon, they aren't going to drop in price dramatically, if at all between now and then.

2. If not the above, Mario will sway me.

3. If I don't preorder, l'll probably get mega jealous of The Cool Switch Gang. They'll be playing Zelda on the bog with no worries. I'd probably have to move my Wii U touchpad around frantically trying to keep the signal. The experience would be ruined.

4. If the above does happen, they may be hard to find after launch. That'll only increase point 3.

5. New gadget lust is strong here, it's got to be the loveliest looking(and feeling) console for quite some time.

6. I want that extra frame on MK8. ;)

1,2 Switch looks fine, it's obviously not for you, I'm yet to play it but the GiantBomb team looked like they were having fun with it on their recent video and you don't have to buy it if you don't want.

Mario looks good so far, and as long as it is nothing like Sunshine to actually play, it will still be fun.

You can keep feeling like the bad guy until it comes out and you enjoy it, or you get to be smug if they are actually all shit.

but if the system fails, we all lose in the end, less games for our new console and then it will be back to PS4/X1 for those lovely grey and brown hues and shooty man games :(

Cancelled my pre-order last night.

I want to love it. I want Nintendo to win but this just smells of another Wii-U disaster.

I honestly just want a simple Nintendo console and a simple Nintendo handheld with no gimmicks.

A true successor to the SNES.

Well go out and buy an N64 then grandpa!!

My rule of thumb has  always been get the console when I want to buy games for the system of equal value to the system.

But I want Zelda, and 1,2 Switch looks like a stealth wario game. And Arms looks great.

And I want it.

Those with more self control should totally wait.

How can those people in that sword fighting bit in the advert tell who's winning? Isn't that 1980s level 'this toy is crap but imagine it's like this' advertising?

1-2 Switch is a travesty.

Can't wait for online SNES games though.

Pre-orders for the Disgaea 5 collectors edition go on sale this Thursday if anyone is interested in the Nisa Europe site.

Link please sir? Looked at the site but couldn't see a press release. Do they typically take money upfront or more like Amazon?

Genuinely looking forward to it since hey, all that bullshit DLC PS4 had is packed in. :)

Tell that to the poor NES Classic people.

Nah, Switch looks plentiful in supply (the grey at least).  I'm guessing you'll be able to walk in to a shop and buy anytime.

Also £60 versus £330 .  Switch is not impulse buy territory.

Mental.

Yes, if you care about sales and what not then yeah, the Wii U was a flop.

But who cares?

I'm sorry but I really hate the sentiment of "who cares if it sold like shit?"

Every Nintendo fan should care because without sales then that means no more Nintendo hardware as they cash out and put all their chips into multiplatform and mobile.

Except no, in this instance it means more Nintendo hardware. Nintendo have reacted to a market that did not want the Wii U not by dropping out of the hardware business but instead bringing us something more tailored to the consumers wants, hence we now have the fantastic looking Switch.

If the Wii U had sold in larger numbers then we'd still be there.

The Wii U was kept alive by the Nintendo fans (of which I am one) but they require a bigger market penetration (that's what she said).

longshot and not sure if anyone else did this

On Jan 20th Amazon had big promo for £10 off a £50 spend. Zelda was 49.99 and someone suggeested buying a ruler and adding it to order to make it just over £50 giving you a tenner off.

This has probably been dealt with but I was checking my preorders and Zelda was not showing as 39.99 but as 48 quid because the preorder price dropped leaving the order under £50 so they removed the promo. I received no email about it and no warning they just removed it and would be charging my card for full amount on release.

I contacted them on chat to confirm this and try to fix it and they gave me  a £10 promotional credit to use elsewhere.

Anyway thought it might be useful info if others havent noticed their preorder being increased in price.

I was discussing this off forum with a friend yesterday and I checked my orders..

My wife ordered 1,2 Switch and Mario Kart with my voucher, which with discounts are still over £50.

My worry is Arms which I ordered on my account, with a stapler.  I'm sure Arms will be less than the 49.99 pre-order price at some point, and drop be below the £50 total..

Let's hope I remember by the time it's released :S

Reading through this thread for titbits I started to feel a bit sick.  Well, something tummy-related at least.  It took a while for me to identify what it was: a huge burst of excitement every time I read about the Switch. I mean, I’m one of the biggest Vita supporters ever, bought a Wii U on the strength of it having a handheld component, and I’m playing the 3DS almost exclusively right now. Not getting this immediately would be dummmmmb.

So sod the overdraft and sod logic… shine preorder get!

Can someone make a new thread for all the SD card talk please?

My Argos pre-order is still in place and interestingly I just noticed that they haven't charged my card yet.  I paid with PayPal so expected it to go through immediately.
