Not sure I'm feeling this.

Got a preorder (although god knows when Amazon will turn up) and Zelda - but I'm just so...unsure. Vaguely tempted to cancel.

I think the fact I'm not excited, in fact I'm more apprehensive, is a clincher. I shouldn't be putting ~£300 on something that's not creating strong feelings.

I doubt it will sellout in the UK. Would be nice really to show the demand is high.

You can still preorder for launch at Amazon. Also I'm sure many, including myself, still have multiple switch orders and been too lazy to cancel one of them.

I better get on that!

Oh, my car passed its MOT! More relaxed about switch purchase now.

That's me!  Grey pre-order from an hour or so after Amazon put them up.  Neon pre-order from when I'd finally come to my senses 2 weeks back.

It seems that either the Switch isn't very popular in the UK, or Nintendo have actually got their act together on the single most important part of a console launch  having consoles available

It can't be that, can it? :S

This accounts thing is very confusing. Do I have to register for a new one? How do you tell?

I have a profile on accounts.nintendo.com but my nickname is 'John' - that can't be my Nintendo gamer tag equivalent, right?

I suspect you've just revealed why we all need to add a new user id, since the nickname bit isn't unique..

Didn't we all link them together ages ago when they brought out Miitomo?

If not that'll teach you all for not downloading ever bit of tat Nintendo release. :quote:

I did this, and forgot, and still got confused, until I did a CTRL+F on the accounts page for user id, then saw the 'set it' button.  It's a mess, though it does seem to integrate.

I discovered that I have Wii U and 3DS download games I'd forgotten about (probably via the Nintendo Humble Bundle) and I could claim platinum points (whatever they are) from Fire Emblem Heroes too.

longshot and not sure if anyone else did this

On Jan 20th Amazon had big promo for £10 off a £50 spend. Zelda was 49.99 and someone suggeested buying a ruler and adding it to order to make it just over £50 giving you a tenner off.

This has probably been dealt with but I was checking my preorders and Zelda was not showing as 39.99 but as 48 quid because the preorder price dropped leaving the order under £50 so they removed the promo. I received no email about it and no warning they just removed it and would be charging my card for full amount on release.

I contacted them on chat to confirm this and try to fix it and they gave me  a £10 promotional credit to use elsewhere.

Anyway thought it might be useful info if others havent noticed their preorder being increased in price.

I've just cancelled mine. The details are just too vague and I'm happy to play Zelda on Wii U for now.

Im considering the same.  Some mystery surrounding some aspects so close to launch.

So annoying, Nintendo won't send a verification code so I can link my NNID to a Nintendo Account. They also don't seem to provide any reasonable support to solve the issue.

Here's the only support solutions

None of which are the issue :( even tried a different email address.

Baz, try clicking ok or something on the cookie message at the bottom of the screen, then try getting a verification email again. I was having the same problem yesterday and it seemed to work after I did that, could be coincidence mind. Good luck!

Whether the Virtual Console will actually be there at launch (not looking likely), what games will be available and how much they'll be.

I would say that it's very unlikely that the VC will be active at launch. Cancelling one's pre-order because of the lack of info regarding the Virtual Console is - from my perspective - utterly insane, but everyone has their own reasons and priorities for wanting to purchase things!

I dunno, its not like the PS4 and Xbone launched without any prev gen support and all the games for those where 6.99 in the launch window

What information do you want them to reveal?

What eshop games can be downloaded on day one?

How much will it cost to play online in the UK?

Can purchases be transferred easily between consoles?

Will past VC purchases work?

What's the wireless range on the controllers?

Is a Netflix app coming?

How does the console work with the mobile app?

Information around all of this is very vague.

This is why I used it on my combined Mario Kart/Arms pre-order!

I guess it depends on how much you care about that stuff.   I just want to play Zelda etc.   All those other things are just incidental details.

Yes exactly. A lot of that is totally incidental. I'm really not about to cancel a pre-order because Nintendo haven't totally specifically stated the wireless range of the Joy Cons...

A lot of this stuff will be revealed. If it's that much of an issue then sure why not cancel if one wants to. For me it's totally incidental.

I'm all about playing Zelda while taking a shit.

No need to always go in day 1. Switch will still be there after 3rd March

At least with the 3DS and Wii U you knew beforehand the VC wouldn't be there at launch but unless I've missed something with the Switch, they've said fuck all about the VC other than there will be a free game every month with the online subscription service and SNES games will have online multiplayer (bet it'll be some shit puzzle games they chose for this like Tetris attack rather than stuff like Mario Kart, Super Bomberman etc.)

Since they've not said anything about it, surely just assume it's not going to be there on Day 1?

I strongly suspect that the VC stuff will come around at about the same time as the paid online does.

What is that true that Snes games will have multilayer like super Mario kart?

Yes.  The 'free' monthly games will be adapated for online play.   The idea is that each month there will a new game for everyone to play online - a game that never had online before.
