The hardware and system UI look lovely. I really wish there were enough games at launch (or even between launch and Mario Odyssey) for me to justify a purchase.

I didn't spot it myself but apparently in that UI video you can see there's about 26GB usable on the device. I wonder if they'll make ones with more in future.

There will be no need to because of the micro SD slot. Extra storage would mean extra cost and people already had their melt down about the price.

With a case and some of those cartridge holders that also hold SD cards a couple of 64gb cards should cover most people.

I don't suppose there's some amazing deal on a high end Micro SD card anywhere people know about? I'm looking at a 128GB SanDisk card at the moment for £37.19, which seems pretty standard. Is there any reason why this is a bad choice?

Or a good deal on a 64gb... :)

I've just got this one - it was £32 when I got it, but it's up to £34 now:

The market for memory cards is a mess

Extreme Pro Plus Evo Pro U3 Class 10 V30. God knows what it all means.

I'm hoping very soon there will be one that rises up above all, spread far and wide across Twitter and forums, much like those 2TB that everybody put in their PS4s. The perfect balance of price, speed and reliability.

I'm hoping I can hold off on an SD for maybe 6 months, hopefully things will be a bit clearer by then as to whether the H/W can even benefit from a faster / better card.

I'm kinda hoping it becomes as simple as finding on that is decent capacity, and has the little 3 in a bucket logo on it.  Or something.

Also a bit annoyed that it's almost inevitable that another / or a bigger one will be required in future..

That one is shit compared to the Extreme Pro Plus Pro U3 Class 10 V30.b ;)

The U rating denotes its minimum write speed I think, with U3 indicating a minimum speed of 30MBps. The equivalent Sandisk card is about £60, so the Toshiba is rather tempting unless there's some reliability issue or something. It's a lot cheaper.

Write speed probably isn't massively important for the Switch though. It'll presumably make for slightly faster saves, but unless you've got some incredible super mega fibre speeds you're not going to see that U1 rating being a bottleneck for downloads. I don't think the Switch has any game capture abilities either.
