Yeah, Hollow Knight looks nowhere near as good as Cuphead. It does look absolutely magnificent fun, though; from the video the tight wall-jumps remind me of Super Meat Boy, it's got air-dashes, I think I saw a parry(?) and a Super Metroid style map. I hadn't paid it any attention until now; I'm very much looking forward to it.

Was that not the case with the 3DS, then? (Foxcon?)

The top 3DS screen was made by sharp but no idea on the bottom one, probably a cheap chinesse company. The switch was made by Japan display inc which is basically Sony, Toshiba and Hitachi's LCD all rolled into one company.

Not when you compare it to the Switch.  Seriously, the product quality seems amazing.

It's better build quality in the sense it's controls slapped onto a tablet. In 2017 it has to be a given that most tablets are of decent build.

Less moving parts (lack of hinge) no doubt makes Switch sturdier certainly, but I wouldn't call that better build quality, or be surprised by it myself.

Build > not much to do with the screen. Though what Pulse said is promising.

Under a month until the Vita killer. ^_^

I wonder if shopto are actually going to drop the price on Zelda. It's annoying me as if I do order it somewhere else I could wind up having console a day early from shopto but having no Zelda until the day after.

It was already £11 cheaper than elsewhere.

Some of the best games in history are made by British devs (Rare, ZedTwo), definitely not weird. ^_^

I meant weird as in - Thought it was made by Nintendo. Not three guys in London. The way Nintendo are pushing it. Interview in the Telegraph about the Switch. Makes it sound like there's a whole bunch of cool shit we don't know about.

Cuphead is an odd combination of incredibly appealing art and non-appealing gameplay (annoying boss battles).  I'll watch it on youtube if it comes out.

They delayed it to expand upon the game so it's now platforming levels and boss battles and not just basically a boss rush.  Of course it won't change much if you don't like boss battles but that's not only what it is anymore.

My son will be foaming at the mouth for Splatoon 2 demo sessions. I'll have to set a calendar reminder to make sure we dont miss out. Does anyone remember if you could preload the original Splatoon demo before the times came about on Wii U? If so, how long before?

Surely this means they can test high volumes of traffic this way as more people will be trying to play in a one hour window?

Exactly. They want to test large numbers of people going online at the same time - releasing a demo and letting people play it whenever they want to is not going to do that - pushing everyone into a series of smaller windows will - and it'll also mean the lobbies get filled out quickly and that 3 minutes of fun is maxed out for folks.

I love Splatoon. Have I mentioned that? It's the best game in years IMO. Bloody simple, yet so bloody deep. And now I'm going to be able to play it almost anywhere...

Something might be going on with SFII...check out this trailer:

And check out this image I grabbed from right near the end - is there a first-person mode or something??

Apologies is this is old news (or something from a previous release) - just new to me!

Called it!!

 new first-person mode
- this is part of a unique game mode called “Unleash! Ha”DO”ken”
- it is specialized for use with the Joy-Con controllers in a first-person view
- a screenshot on the box shows a timer and also features multiple Shadaloo Soldiers
- art gallery with over 250 pages of artwork
- box includes the logo for the MT Framework engine

That is definitely it and not because some cranky octogenarian at Nintendo HQ has started saying "we cannot give the game away for free like this".

It's a couple of weeks after launch and it's the only online game they'll have. How much cramming are they expecting?
