How was the frame rate on Zelda re. The comments some outlets have made?

In the fifteen minutes we played for, I found it a fairly solid 30fps. There were occasions when it would dip, particularly when panning the camera in certain ways in certain locations. I can't remember for certain, but these dips may have only occurred when the console was undocked (Zelda was the game they were using to demonstrate how the Switch can be played on a TV or as a handheld). With the limited time I spent with it I was very happy with the performance I was seeing. It looks incredible.

I'm in that video :)

At 3:30 he talks about a player being hit constantly by barrels. That player is my son.

Did you get to try out all control methods? I'm umming and aahing over whether I really need the pro controller or if the joycons in the grip are good enough. Did you get to try either?

Sooner or later you'll play something retro, and the stick will be no replacement for a D-Pad.

I tried all control schemes and the pro controller is much comfier than using the joycons in the grip.

The grip is a nice addition but it's not ergonomically close to the pro controller which felt lovely, IMO.

I mentioned in my post above that I played Splatoon 2 with the pro controller, but it was actually two joycons in a grip. They had obviously ensured that all play and control options were demonstrated between all the games, to showcase the versatility. I remember now struggling slightly with the grip, but maybe that's because I've played Splatoon recently and my fingers have memorised slightly different positions for all the buttons. Gyro aiming was definitely amazing though. I think confusing the two says how good the joycon grip is, but nothing I played made extensive use of the d-pad. It might be with VC titles or other games that you really start to miss it. Some people are more precious about their d-pads, as a Steam controller owner I'm obviously not one of them.

The pro controller is really nice though. Perhaps the best controller I've used, ever. I haven't pre-ordered one but I'm definitely thinking about it now. I'd kill to get one working with my PC.

Pro controller on wiiu was amazing. This is apparently even better.

Don't know if anyone had similar experience to me or can comment. I had really bad input lad with the Wii U pro controller especially with Mario Maker or something like Super Mario World. Did anyone else notice it?

really hope there is none of that with the Switch especially with the thing costing £60.

I have been using my pro controller loads of late playing Wind waker and not seen any lag, don't remember ever having an issue with tbh.

Has always been really frustrating for me resulting in always using the gamepad, it only cost me £25 new so wasn't too disheartened by it.

Yes. But then my TV here is proper cack so I just took it for granted it was that. I can jam the stick hard to make it click before I see any cursor movement on-screen. I'll try doing that both on the gamepad directly, and via. the Pro Controller using just the gamepad screen as the display and report back tomorrow.

They seem to really be touting the Switch and the accessories as being highly eSports friendly, so I'd expect that they've nailed input latency at least. They just reported that Splatoon can be played over a wired LAN with an additional two slots for spectator cams or coaches.

All the comments I'm reading and hearing that say how solid the hardware feels is very very pleasing.

I'm a sucker for top notch build quality and so I'm hoping to be satisfied.

My first impression when I held the console during my brief time at the Birmingham event was just how well put together it felt. I bought the original DS when it came out which was... not great. I also bought a launch day 3DS and suffered with the analogue nub and pre-headtracking 3D effect. Compared to those two devices this is a thing of beauty.
