Didn't they mention that the joycons can tell the positions of one another, relative to their own?  Maybe they can tell the position of the tablet as well, perhaps it has similar gyro sensors? The screen would need gyro anyway, considering they planned to eventually do VR.  So it probably has built in sensors.

Then you just input in settings whether the dock is left, right or center to the television. And whether or not it's facing forward or sideways.  Then input your TV's size.

Should give it a general idea of where your TV is and how big of a space it uses, right?  That's the missing point of reference.

I like how it's gone from "you can use it as a terrible Wii remote" to being a budget HTC Vive controller.

Nintendo hype team is writing cheques the system can't hope to cash. Isn't it enough that it's the world's most powerful handheld, a homecoming for motion controls and a new way to play split screen games? Must it be a unicorn?

I am considering to go that Thursday night to Smyths. That is more than 1 hour from Eastbourne. On a motorbike!!!

I need to know the box size to make sure it fits into either the top box or my motorbike rugsack

Do it. What a story to tell your grandkids when they're having games beamed straight into their eyeballs from drones made by Amazon...

"I had to ride for an hour. And then an hour back ya little fuckers!!!"

I agree it'll be like Skyward Sword, which I mentioned some time back. I actually preferred that to the sensor bar pointing, as it meant you didn't have to point the Wiimote at the TV, which was useful for some seating positions. Was a little annoying with the recalibration though.

When you're the boss you can just tell people you aren't coming in - like a man. Like a MAN that's going to collect his £300 toy.

I already put a diary request in with my female boss for the 3rd off work.  I for one welcome our female overlords.

Has it been posted yet that apparently Gameseek are expecting to take more pre-orders for the Neon version and will be sticking to their £198 price?

Gotta say, I'm a bit tempted. Even though they take the money straight away, that's a heck of a saving to make.

Hmm, they already suggested they were taking a hit the first time round and they hoped they would get some "goodwill" for honoring the price. It's also well known that sales margins are tight on consoles so they're not going to be able to do it without making a loss, not the "smaller margin" the article suggests. It seems an odd move, even if it's small number they're going to offer at that price.

I've dealt with GameSeek in the past, and it was not pleasant. The experience led me to cancelling my order with them. Do not expect to be able to contact their customer services, ever.

Even at £80 off, or perhaps because they claim to offer £80 off, they'll not be getting my custom.

Yep, I'm my own boss luckily and the Swicthes will be getting delivered directly to the office, then which ever one arrives first gets set up and the other gets sold or returned :P with the third being a Neon set and at £260 delivered from Amazon France a few days later kept also, spare dock, joycon and cabling for home and office, with a spare Switch incase anything should happen to the main one.

Bah... at that price I'm putting in a fourth order, in it to win it ;)

Not cancelling and re-ordering, but I'd agree, when it's £80, that's a hell of a lot to save if it turns out genuine. Worth the chance.

Buy more Switch games instead. Or you know, pay this months bills or buy food, whatever.

At £200 I'm willing to take a gamble with my credit card. If it goes wrong I'll file a charge back. £80 is a big enough discount to try it on.

They'll no doubt release the email at the worst time and I'll miss out.

That was my thinking when I ordered the Switch the first time they had it at that price. However, as I mentioned earlier, they haven't given any indication of when they're expecting stock or where I am in the queue. I'd obviously like to get it on launch day, but I don't mind a little wait as there's a saving involved.

I did order Mario Maker from them the other to give them some more of my custom and didn't have any problem with the order, other than it being a little slow.

For many weeks I expected the Switch to be the perfect machine to play with my anti-gamer girlfriend. She could watch netflix or embarrasing bodies while I am saving Hyrule or escaping Isaac moms.

It turns out that the relationship is nearly gone!

Now I feel like going back to Eve online, buying a PS4, a massive TV and a pallet of Doritos.

Fuck the Switch.

(hopefully the next lady will want to play SnipperClips with me)

Did anyone get one yesterday @ £198? My spider senses tell me they are just trying to collect email addresses...

I don't think any were available Yesterday.  I also think they will have about 5 Neon consoles that they'll be willing to let go at a loss and are trying to generate traffic through their site.  That's fine though, it's a good idea to drum up business and I've had no issue purchasing from Gameseek before.

They sort of remind me of SimplyGames in the PS2 and Xbox days before they got shite.
