Good. Lord. I'm excited. Amazing just confirmed launch day delivery.

However... beyond Zelda I've got nothing else pre-ordered. What else are people getting? I appreciated we're not exactly spoiled for choice, but what's the hive mind thinking? I've never played Satsuna so that I think I'll get that but otherwise...

Just got an email from Amazon confirming launch day delivery for the neon I pre-orderd yesterday. :)

Zelda will last me a while. May get snipperclips.

I am Setsuna is quite the 90's JRPG love in, I am currently playing a fan translation on the Vita, it is very well suited to a handheld device, but would be nice to Switch between portable and telly mode, so it should do well on the Switch.

I was going to wait and buy the official PAL release on the Switch, but as it doesn't have a physical release at all, they can jog on and I'm playing it on Vita.

Amazon bought forward my pre-order from the 4th to the 3rd.  I must remember to take that day off. Hype increasing.

On all my orders as well, including the Zelda CE (which was originally 7th), whoo ^_^

Ever since I linked you guys that CND video his other vids have been popping up in my feed, resulting in me pretty much watching every single one of them (it's either that or reading some discussion about Wii sensor bars). Even though I can never make it through them entirely (too much cringe and "oh my god") I'm glad to see that there are positive vibes all around. Six days in and people have been gifting them stuff non-stop.

Some Ubisoft duder even sent them pizza!

Free pizza!

Ever since you posted that link I've been following it and have been generally entertained, although CND is pretty cringy, Triforce seems a LOT more down to earth.

I think they should have used the N3DS XL they got bought as a channel prize, the money for supplies and Triforce obviously to keep the Zelda console, to me it seemed a bit on the gimmie gimmie side of things, and pretty sure there would've been a shed load more followers if there was something in the running for them etc, but hey, what do I know, I'm no Youtuber :P

I am very much looking forward to tomorrows though as it is meant to chuck it down with snow ;)

Has anyone seen that 51 questions thing from Gameinformer , the interviewer asks about Paper Zelda and Aenouma says they are working on it......:omg:

Some of the accessories for the switch are a proper rip off. £28 for a fucking plug, robbing bastards. That's even worse than Apple pricing.

You say that and I thought the same as I want at least 2 extra chargers...

I wouldn't buy a cheap charger but something like an Anker branded one is around a tenner and then a fiver for a good lead - still £10 under the Nintendo price but you have a lead poking out if the plug socket about a foot where the Nintendo one is nice moulded downward pointing solution so you can go cheaper but it's an ugly solution!

By bouncing an IR beam off your body, apparently.

This is all just rampant speculation based off of nothing but boredom, to be honest.  I got super bored earlier and tried to think how a wii remote would be implemented using the technology as it exists in the right joycon.  I didn't mean it could actually bounce a beam off your body.  Just that it might detect the positioning of your body using the camera, to somehow align with the way you're facing, to create a pointer on your TV.

I'm starting to think a calibration method would just be easier though.  For instance, since it can detect distance as well as it's positioning in relative space thanks to the gyroscope, maybe it could recall it's last docked position via the IR.  The system knows when it is in docked mode, so perhaps it could retain that position in relative space thanks to the new IR camera features that measure distances (including objects in motion).  And when you take the right joycon out, it recalls where it was before, in docked mode, relative to where it is now.

The only other thing they'd have to do is point the IR camera at their TV.  Now the dock position it recorded automatically when you detached it, and it's relation to the TV are recorded in that space.  These can be used to calibrate automatically in the future, when the right joycon detaches from the dock.  So long as the position of the Switch Dock relative to the TV's position remains mostly unchanged.  So if you move the dock, you'd need to recalibrate it's positioning with the television by pointing at the TV again after detached the right joycon from the dock.

But if you never really move your dock, you wouldn't have to worry about recalibration because it would record the dock position everytime the right joycon was attached or detached when in docked mode, and retain the TV's position you recorded relative to the dock's position.

(This wouldn't even change on the go, because the positioning of the TV is only relative to dock placement.  So bringing your Switch tablet with you wouldn't break the calibration so long as it still docked in the same place when you got home.)

So if done right, it's a one-time calibration, unless you move the dock or the TV drastically to where it no longer matches the relative space model.

--

Sounds super complicated, but basically what I'm saying is they could make it to where you'd only have to calibrate once, theoretically. And just by pointing at the center of your TV.  Not every time you play your system, just once..

Perhaps when booting up games made specifically to use this technology, they could ask you to calibrate by pointing at the TV each time those games are booted, however.  Just to ensure it's always accurate.
