I feel like I really don't get 1, 2 Switch at all. Saying that you don't need to look at the screen to play, so the focus is on the other person, sounds almost convincing until you realise that this is supposedly a videogame, the whole point of which is that you are interacting in some way with what's on the screen.

No matter what they show of 1, 2 Switch - table tennis, sword fighting, wizards fighting - it just looks like people waving the joycons around to nothing. I assume that the HD rumble must work into it somehow and you make movements at certain times based on the rumble, but it's a really hard sell when all your adverts just show two people apparently play acting with no real visual feedback or anything tangible to interact with.

It's the rumble.

At the January Event, 1, 2 Switch was eliciting a lot of bemused looks, in my experience anyway. People would play one of the games, go 'oh, is that it?' and then shuffle off to stand in the respective queues for either Zelda, MK, Arms or Splatoon. In fact, the only people I saw try more than one of 1, 2 Switch's games were those clutching their stamp cards. Nintendo doled out cards which you'd get a stamp for after playing each title. Getting a full set would get you a pin badge.

Not having a browser (or at least access to youtube) is the first A-grade major balls-up that Nintendo have made with Switch IMO (YMMV). It should have one, and it's something I hope they fix sooner rather than later.

How is my youngest supposed to watch surprise eggs being opened, or Baby Alive going on shopping trips with really dis-likable american families!?*

Spoiler

* I have no idea why, but she finds that stuff mesmerizing on the Wii U gamepad / iPad

Nintendo have not included 12 Switch with the console because they dont want the public to identify the console with the game. Probably even nintendo knows it is not that good.

Or maybe NIntendo understand that motion minigames is really a niche market.

So that is a good sign.

But I reserve my opinion until I have tried it. With the right people.

It's been said enough already but it really should have been a pack in or been at a much lower price point.

If they'd have packed it in, I bet this thread alone would have been full of people complaining they'd rather pay £30-50 less for a 'solus' pack and not have it forced on them. They couldn't win either way.

It's not going to be for everyone, but I reckon, as a family at home, we'll get some fun out of this. My youngest will LOVE that baby game. For me, it's like a journey back into dark, tired times lol

Well yes, and I'd of been one of them complaining. It should have been a pack in at the same price.

Edit, ahh I see what you might be saying. Perhaps.. but I don't think people would equate the game with that sort of £30-£50 price point anyway. So it wouldn't come up.

Spot on. This narrative, created by Nintendo of course, that it would have increased the price had they included pack in software, is utter bollocks.

What narrative - who said it would have increased the price? Stop being so angry. I'm saying people would have complained and said they wanted a version that cost less with the game cut out. If they'd said the same £280 with the game, people would have wanted it for £250 without it - regardless of if Nintendo had actually added anything on for the cost in the first place.

Stop being such a sop. Who said it? Reggie, that's who. The fact you can't see this, or accept near any criticism just shows how deluded you are.

When Wii came out no one moaned about wanting a cheaper version minus Wii Sports, did they.
