The 3DS and Wii U didn't for a long time, remember...

It's not so much getting it cheaper now, it's more it'll be in stock cheap now. I never wait until I need it in case I can't get hold of any!

I'm hoping they'd have learned from that and make it universal from the off. And fair enough, but I doubt there will be a scarcity of cheap credit either. :P I would expect them to announce more about that side of things over the next couple of weeks and not wait until launch, but they probably won't because Nintendo.

can they work as a pointer? is the camera not on wrong end of the wrong 'con'? Or would they do it with accelerometers instead.

I had just assumed that everything with a pointer was gone for good.

They could just re-do the pointer stuff to use the gyro instead I guess? Similar to writing messages on a DualShock 4 with motion controls. It'd probably need a button to centre the reticle though, maybe.

I really wouldn't bother buying up any Ninty credit to spend on Switch stuff right now, there's no guarantee they will even reuse it. Might be a completely different system.

Yeah. It wouldn't be wasted though - still lots of 3DS and Wii U things I want.

The Wii U has DS games, so there's no real reason why the Switch couldn't have DS and 3DS games, at least not because of one wide screen instead of two smaller ones.

Well, true. I just wish that I could put my DS and 3DS game cards in the Switch and be able to run them...

Incidentally, I agree with @Lorfarius that I wouldn't add eShop funds to your 3DS or Wii U for the Switch. This is Nintendo we're dealing with here....

Oh cases...

(as I do) I spend WAAAY too much time deciding which case to buy.

I wanted something that subtly suggested that I'm a geek that knows better (i.e, geek who gets Nintendo games).

Most of the available in the UK cases are dull.

I quite like the slightly cryptic (to those not in the know) Sheikah Eye of the US Zelda LE, but figure that'd be way too expensive.

There is a Link Tunic case, but it's very blue, and white isn't a good idea.

I'm not mad on MASSIVE logos, so don't like the Zelda one with links face on but do like the repeated pattern beside it.

The other 4 zelda ones (blue or black with outline of links face, or with outline of sheikah eye) were ok.

I opted for this one from Amazon.com:

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case-Mario/dp/B01N4O0392/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485873197&sr=8-1&keywords=mario+switch+case

I'm sure it'll be available in the UK anyway, but money was burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm patient so ~£16 from Amazon.com it was :)

I can always buy another one if it's shit..

Argos sell it.

There's a scarcity of cheap credit most of the time! There'll be more so when the Switch is released!

How much do you usually pay for it? I've never seen it out of stock on CDKeys when I've looked, but they're also not that cheap, and they have loads of stolen credit cards to buy more stock with. ;););)

Usually about £22-23 for £25. Sometimes as low as £18. Paypal gifts sometimes do £50 for £40.
