Azrael
I've not been keeping up to date with Switch news. What's the likelihood of being able to buy one at launch without pre-ordering? Is anywhere still doing pre-orders?
MidWalian
Amazon, Argos, and the Nintendo shop still accepting pre-orders.
Jolly
Regardless of the silly price and it's inevitable discount further down the line, I'll be taking one for the team and getting Bomberman on day 1. I'll be sure to swing by and give my impressions which will surely be completely untainted by launch day hysteria and the need to justify the expense.

Pixelated Ben
I'm really sorry Nintendo, but I'm holding off for a limited edition colour (a Famicom-styled Switch would be nice). However, if you release a Switch Metroid game and an Advance Wars game (ideal for multiplayer local gaming!) I will make a purchase sooner.

Games need a lot tweaking to run on the Switch. Besides why put in backwards compatibility when you can just repackage them and sell them ala mario kart 8. ,
Oracle
I'd be happy with a decent discount, not expecting Nintendo to do a Microsoft - they clearly do not have the engineering availability to do it alongside launching a new platform. Protocol Penguin
I'd have motivation to get a Switch eventually if it had BC. But then realistically, having a single screen rules out the DS and 3DS, and having no disc drive rules out the Wii and Wii U. Bah.
Paulando
That's the trouble with 'unique' hardware configurations and controls. It's great to revisit old classic like Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 years later on the big screen or a handheld, but the Wiimote-requirements of Super Mario Galaxy will make it tough to play in future without modifications on anything other than the original hardware. For that reason, I'd fully support a HD remake of the best Wii/DS/3DS games.
Hitcher
Cancelled my pre-order today as I'm not paying £328 just to play Zelda when I've got a Wii U.

Not Thread Owner
I'm sure it will do, but this is Nintendo: Has it been confirmed that you can use your eShop credit on the Switch eShop (or eShop equivalent)? Corranga
Oh cases... (as I do) I spend WAAAY too much time deciding which case to buy. I wanted something that subtly suggested that I'm a geek that knows better (i.e, geek who gets Nintendo games). Most of the available in the UK cases are dull. I quite like the slightly cryptic (to those not in the know) Sheikah Eye of the US Zelda LE, but figure that'd be way too expensive. There is a Link Tunic case, but it's very blue, and white isn't a good idea. I'm not mad on MASSIVE logos, so don't like the Zelda one with links face on but do like the repeated pattern beside it. The other 4 zelda ones (blue or black with outline of links face, or with outline of sheikah eye) were ok. I opted for this one from Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Premium-Console-Case-Mario/dp/B01N4O0392/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485873197&sr=8-1&keywords=mario+switch+case I'm sure it'll be available in the UK anyway, but money was burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm patient so ~£16 from Amazon.com it was I can always buy another one if it's shit.. Dunno if they could emulate the pointer in software with, I'm assuming, the better gyroscopes a la motion control plus..

The Wii U has DS games, so there's no real reason why the Switch couldn't have DS and 3DS games, at least not because of one wide screen instead of two smaller ones. 21 minutes ago, deKay said: I'm sure it will do, but this is Nintendo: Has it been confirmed that you can use your eShop credit on the Switch eShop (or eShop equivalent)? I'd imagine it would use the same credit, but I wouldn't buy anything until they've actually given more details about it. I doubt you'd be able to get credit any cheaper now than it will be then, so there wouldn't be any advantage of not holding off.

It's not so much getting it cheaper now, it's more it'll be in stock cheap now. I never wait until I need it in case I can't get hold of any!
