anyone used 365 games before, thinking of getting bomberman r from there. but never used 365 games.

I've used them once (for an artbook - P3 Official Design Works) and had no trouble; I received updates on my order and it arrived within the estimate in good condition. :)

Famitsu asked a bunch of known Japanese devs about the Switch, they really love the idea of HD rumble and think it's a bargain (well in Japan it probably is relatively speaking), gotta smile at the Takahashi Bros reply, they'd be possed for that comment I'm sure :)

Hiroyuki: I liked that they focused on the controllers in their presentation. It’s common to hear about processor speeds and HD capabilities at these kinds of presentations, but as a developer, that stuff is so boring. I don’t think those are what make games fun.

Shugo: ARMS feels very Nintendo. I was talking [to my brother] about how it would be neat if we made a boxing kind of game on the Switch, but ARMS is way beyond what we had in mind (laughs).

INTERESTING ASPECTS OF SWITCH

There’s a lot of different ones, but the biggest innovation is the HD Rumble. Playing games takes way too much time, doesn’t it? So I think it’s really important that the HD Rumble is used just right for physical experiences, and I want to invent some brand-new mechanics.

The HD Rumble can produce really intricate feelings, and I think haptic sensations will open the door to whole new experiences within games.

Harada even muses about using it as a HMD:

INTERESTING ASPECTS OF SWITCH

I’ve been interested in the HD Rumble for some time now. You can feel a glass marble rolling around inside of a metal box, or feel the spot where a bouncy ball bounces. It’s interesting that it can be used like the so-called 3D sound. And this is just a crazy idea of mine, but the system itself is so light that if you took out the Joy-Con with the IR camera and set it up, and placed the screen in some kind of apparatus, you could transform it into a wireless VRHMD by rendering the left and right sides of the screen separately for each eye. So I think the Switch is capable of a lot of different things, depending on the ideas of the developer.

They're really good. They're my go to online games retailer nowadays. Most stuff arrives the next day and a fair few pre-orders have arrived early. The only downside is that they take payment when you order as opposed to when they post.

Interesting that some of the the devs in that Famitsu article were surprised by how Nintendo has managed to keep the price down. Despite all the complaints about the price I think it's good value for what you get, I can see myself playing Zelda on the TV in the evening then bringing it to work and using the 2 joycons as separate controllers to play Snipperclips during my lunch break.

And each person you show it to will buy one and so on and so on.

I can see this thing being pretty hard to get hold of for a while after launch.

I seem to have 3 pre orders in for them now, I think I'll be alright :P

Determined NOT to miss out, lol

So this morning the youtube algorithms goblins put this video on my list to watch...

He might not look like the coolest kid on the block but he is seriously spot on!

Summarizing and expanding his point...

The Switch is a "hardware" sell. It is not something you buy to play a certain game. Of course you need games, but the star is the hardware. You want to use the Switch and you expect games for it.

The hopeful bit: People will want to play the switch in public places. That is the reason why it had to look so good and sleek. Just imagine people playing multiplayer mariokart on caffes and similar places. Anyone playing the console (specially in tabletop multiplayer mode) will be passively demoing the console to the people around.  It really sells itself.

That's a good point honestly.  It's not goofy/cheap looking hardware so people may be more inclined to use it in public.

Crime fantasies.  Why is that a thing?

"Play that on the bus around our way and it'll get nicked right from your hands"

No it won't.

Indeed. Most people have a more expensive bit of hardware sitting permanently in their pocket.

or peasants as was inferred

Kind of, but also, I'll take the train if I am given the choice, usually much more comfortable, and as I live in the countryside, it actually runs more often and later than our local bus service, and is only a pound more expensive for a return to the largest local town, if I'm going to town for shopping, I'd prefer to take the train over driving tbh.

** EDIT **

Last bus home = 17:45 ( 1hr 10 minute journey )

Last train home = 22:17 ( 26 minute journey )

Trains win :P

I'll be sure to keep that in mind next time I need to get from my home to my workplace on the opposite side of Nottingham (or vice-versa), with its one train station roughly halfway between the two places.

Look, my logic doesn't work for you lucky folk who live somewhere with more than one shop, us country folk need to take all the wins we can ;)
