I can't see them delaying one colour and not the other. For what it's worth the Neon one is going to look extremely distracting in handheld mode, and a bit of an eyesore when docked besides a minimalist TV set up. I liked it because it looked like a prototype, and because I always regret not going for the funky secondary colours with new hardware. I wish I could change it now though. I'll just use it as an excuse to get a pair of grey joycons.

Can't you get both and sell one on? I'm sure you won't struggle to get rid of it

Amazon chat blaming Nintendo

 

"The delivery date was changed as the supplier has delayed to confirm us with the item availability, But I will contact the fulfillment center to dispatch and deliver the items as soon as possible."

Shopto and amazon are both stating the 3rd, will most likely ditch amazon and support shopto.

Keep them both, just to be safe, if they both arrive, I am sure you'll have no trouble shifting the spare, or you are entitled to return anything bought online upto 14 days after receipt.

Just ditched the Amazon order for the neon unit I made an hour after they became available, it was marked as 4th delivery too.

 

I have a local Smyths and the are doing a midnight opening. I'll be there to pick my neon unit up and probably buy an overpriced Zelda.

 

At least I can have it on launch day.

DPD is good. How are Shopto these days for getting stuff to you a day early? I've read the Nintendo store sometimes gets new hardware to you the day before release (New 3DS apparently) but they use Yodel...

 

I have a pre-order with both sites at the moment - not sure which to cancel.

I preordered mine at my nearest Game before the presentation, It was a 20 pound reservation. But I phoned them last week to show interest for a neon model  but they did not seem to bother too much about it.

Can I cancel (and get my £20 back) If I manage to find a neon model somewhere else?

Thanks!. I will see what I can do.

Anyway, being bothered by not getting the neon sounds too much like "first world problem" to me.

They usually get games to you a day early but hardware usually gets to you on the launch day. I preordered a PS4 and PSVR from them and they were both dispatched the day before with DPD. Personally anywhere that uses DPD usually gets my vote, I hate sitting in silence all day waiting for the courier to arrive at a completely unspecified time within a 12 hour window.

I pre-ordered with my corner shop earlier for £1.50 and I am pretty disgusted with the attitude of the people in there who hadn't heard of a Nintendo Swatch. They even said I'd need 5p for a bag. Fuck them, I'm pre-ordering from my local Essoooooo garage and I'll get a smurf figure from the points.
